I Surrender All

All to Jesus I surrender;
all to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
in His presence daily live.
I surrender all,
all to Thee my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

(Judson Van de Venter, 1896)

Reflection. Jesus’ instruction to all those He invites. To follow Him as His disciples. Jesus instructs you and I to place our complete trust in Him.

Scripture Readings: I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the [life] which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

We are to surrender our hearts and our lives into Jesus’ hands. We declare Jesus as our LORD. The Master of our destiny. In all we say and in everything we do. We honor Jesus and His Holy Name.

Scripture Reading: Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will find it.” (Matthew 16:24–25, NIV)

God always has and always will look for men and women who say to Him, ‘I trust you so much, I’m all in. I want your way not mine. I am willing to live by faith!’ (Chip Ingram)

Praise be the Holy Name of Jesus! At this blessed and this amazing moment. Accepting Jesus as our personal Savior, our Redeemer, our God. This blessed moment. Is also the exact time we surrendered our all to Jesus Christ. Jesus the Lamb of God. Christ the Great I AM. We believe with all we are. Jesus Christ is the Great Rescuer. Jesus is the Messiah who saved us from the darkness of our sin. Jesus Christ saved us from ourselves.

We acknowledge who we were without Him. We were NOTHING. Jesus as our center. Christ is the purpose. The reason we exist.

As the focus of our lives. Jesus brings to our hearts a reason to live. We appreciate who we are now. True and faithful disciples for Jesus. Followers of Jesus. Washed clean in the precious and the innocent blood of the Lamb of God.

Once we were enemies of our Father God. The Good Shepherd. Jesus searched and He searched. Jesus never rested till you and I He found. Once we were lost. Now we are found. Now we are held in the beloved arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Held in the beloved arms of our Lord Jesus. We submitted to the precious love of Jesus. We answered ‘yes’ to the loving invitation to follow Jesus. We willingly and humbly follow our LORD and Master where ever He leads us.

Come. Follow Me. I will lead you with My love.

Scripture Readings: My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27, ESV)

And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19, ESV)

As with everything else pertaining to Jesus our God. There are no half-measures when following Him. When Jesus our Rabbi invites us to follow Him. He expects. Jesus commands. Our complete surrender. We give to Jesus our all. No hesitation. No doubts. No holding anything back. Once you and I place our lives, our hearts and our souls in Jesus’ hands. We are in the presence of God the Son.

This is when the transformative love of Jesus works its miracle. We are born again. God the Father adopts us into His divine family. Everything in our lives becomes new. Everything becomes His light and Jesus’ love. We see all those around us. Through the love and the compassion of Jesus. We love the world as Jesus does. As creations of the Great Creator. When people harm or hurt us. We forgive easily, readily and completely as does Jesus. So God the Father can then forgive us our sins.

Scripture Reading: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9, NIV)

In other words, we follow Jesus in all we say and in all our actions.

As Jesus’ faithful disciples. We are His mirror image. WHY? Because with our hearts and our souls we adore Jesus WHY? Because Jesus our Lord loves us enough to die for us. WHY? Because we want the whole world to know the love of Jesus. WHY? Because we want the whole world to follow Jesus.

In the Lord’s Prayer we find the most significant statement in Christendom.

Scripture Reading: Your Kingdom come,

Your will be done,

on Earth as it is in Heaven. (Matthew 6:10, ESV)

Agreeing to be Jesus’ disciples means we at all times obey the Father. “Your will be done.”

Saying “yes” to our Lord. We are also agreeing to obey the will of Almighty God — ALWAYS. We take these four words, “Your will be done.” Throughout our day. Reminding ourselves who it was who created us. Reminding ourselves who sent Jesus into the world as our Redeemer. Yes! We follow the footsteps of Jesus for all our days. In humble obedience to the Father. We follow Jesus. As the mirror image of the One who leads us with His soul-saving love.

After finishing up my articles on Letting go and Let God and Surrendering to God. I thought it might be nice to add some inspirational quotes on the topic. (Think About Such Things Blog)
