The melody of life is sweeter when played with tunes of heartfelt gratitude. Life has cherished moments when someone has made you feel ‘special’. These cherished moments lifted you with overflowing feelings. Feelings that were more than mere thankfulness.

Overflowing gratitude for another has often been a part of my life and I feel humbled by these memories. I am nobody special — but life has chosen to offer me times when just the right person was there for me. These times when yes I had cause to show deep gratitude. To people who took the time and cared for me.
For instance, as a mature-aged university student, I had a dear friend doing the same degree as I was. But one semester behind. We became ‘joined at the hip’ so to speak. I have a gift for remembering the facts. He has a gift for changing these facts into creative and captivating assignments. We shared many late nights and both gained very high grades.
Much more than this. He encouraged me when I at times was about to give up. To say I was grateful, well, yes! Did I show him, yes! In so many ways. We remained friends for many years. Gratitude was a gift we both shared. A gift that lifted the both of us to new heights.
So many things you have in your life to be overwhelmingly grateful for. Happily, we all do! Perhaps! The small gift your young child made for you at school, so many years ago. Still has pride of place in your living room. Your heart sings with joy and gratitude at the memory of the day he proudly presented you with his priceless gift.
Yes, you showed him all the heartfelt gratitude your heart could hold. You were both blessed ways back then. And you are doubly blessed. With the memory, you have deep within your heart.
Sadly, I have not always shown gratitude when good things came my way. When I realize this, I am saddened. It is even sweeter for me when I do remember. The melody of my life is bright once more.
A special something has been done for me. It has enriched my life. This enrichment was only made possible through the generous actions of another who cared enough for me to make a difference.

Birdsong greets me most mornings. And, yes, I am beyond doubt grateful to wake up refreshed after another good night’s sleep. Happily, even though I am 71 years old, I am still very much a morning person.
To deeply breathe in the fresh crisp air of autumn in Moree. Yes, I am grateful. To be greeted by a neighbour feeding the birds and having our morning chat. My daily morning ritual of gratitude starts my day with a melody of praise to God the Father. The Creator of All. I pop back inside for breakfast and the start of another adventure.
Yes, you read this right! Many days of my life are indeed an adventure. Yesterday for instance. I finally completed another original seascape oil painting. To say I was again in paradise on Earth, well yes! Standing brush in hand before my easel! This is putting it mildly! I step back to gauge my progress. Is it going to be my best painting ever?
Not yet! This part needs more white to make the surf give the appearance it is splashing onto the shore. The sand needs more dark brown to give the impression of the wind blowing on a stormy day. Step back many more times. Make many more adjustments. I am never really satisfied. But, I have to take photos of it and promote it for sale on my website.
The time just flies by, I love painting so very, very much. I ignore the aches and pains of my complaining old body. To praise God the Father for His gift. Yes, with every brushstroke. Every time I step back and I am amazed yet again at the fact I did this. My ability to paint is indeed a gift from God the Father, my gratitude is in my constant prayer.
If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough. Meister Eckart
Appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the presence of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts. Alan Cohen
To give thanks in solitude is enough. Thanksgiving has wings and goes where it must go. Your prayer knows much more about it than you do. Victor Hugo

When I gaze at a magnificent sunset at the close of another day of adventure. My heart is again filled with gratitude which mere words cannot portray.
I sit for a few moments to allow God’s beauty to penetrate deep into my soul. I suppose it is the artist in me, but the colours! Oh! The colours! My heart is not only filled. It is overflowing!
I have captured sunsets in my oh! so simple original oil paintings. But only God can create such magnificence! My heart, soul and spirit are so tremendously grateful, truly grateful!
Again, I am at peace!
