The Strength of Almighty God Gives Us the Courage to Carry On
Almighty God is our strength. With God nothing is impossible.
Reflection. In this world there is much to fear. We have a God who gives us the courage and the strength. We face our fears with God as our ally and our shield. There is nothing to fear.
Scripture Readings: The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him. (Psalm 28:7, ESV)
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:26, ESV)
As we glance around our neighborhood on a Saturday night. As we watch the evening news. As we watch documentaries about God’s wonderland and His magnificent creatures. It breaks our gentle hearts. The cruelty, the abuse, the pollution and the violence we see. Dare we take our family for an evening stroll? Dare we?? We fear this may not be such a good idea. Yes, there is so much to fear.
We decide not to watch the evening news. For the sadness of the constant international conflict and war. Overwhelms us. The news of another young rape victim. Tears at our heart strings. Can we bear to watch another documentary. Seeing how humanity is destroying our beloved planet. With organisations polluting our wonderful and beautiful planet. Can we? Seeing hundreds of pets abandoned at Christmas time. For they are no longer cute little babies. It is far too much for us to fix alone. Far too much. Or is it???
God the Creator made this world in perfection. The Creator made man as the protector of all that lived on His world. Then sin entered this world. Now what do we see all around us. We see decay, destruction and death.
Yes, there are people working miracles in the name of Almighty God.
There are scientists bringing animals and plants back from the brink of extinction. There are experts looking for ways to feed the billions of people surviving in poverty. We hear of individuals opening their homes and their hearts to the homeless and the starving. We see our neighbor taking in a stray cat or dog at her own expense. Preventing it from going to the council animal shelter and facing certain death.
Yes, there are men and women working tirelessly to truly make a difference. There are scientists and organisations working silently in the background. To bring nature back to life from the brink of being gone forever. No it is not too late. This precious planet is alive. And all the wonderful life it holds can be saved. It can and must be saved. You and I are its savior. We work tirelessly. We pray endlessly. We believe in the One who works miracles. Then we work and we wait.
What do we learn when we witness these men and women. People working to make a real difference. We realize we too can do our own little part. So we do.
The statement “Nothing is impossible with God”1is a declaration of faith that expresses the belief that God can do anything. It is based on the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:26, where He said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”2. The Bible shows many examples of God’s power and miracles that defy human logic or understanding34. It is a message of hope and trust in God’s sovereignty and goodness. (Bing, 16/07/2024)
I do not know about you. I choose not to give up. I believe where there is life there is also love. I believe where there is love there is also faith in Almighty God. Where there is faith in God there is eternal hope for a brighter future. When we place our complete faith in the Almighty One. By placing our absolute trust in God. We indeed can make the mountain of impossibility dance merrily into the sea of miracles. With the assistance of Almighty God we shall make a difference. And we do.
We may not live long enough to see our mission come to fruition. But we hold fast to our vision. We pray consistently to Almighty God. Asking specifically for what is needed to make our vision become reality. Believing. Always believing. With God at our side. Believing our prayer will be answered. We receive what is needed. Anything is indeed possible. One baby-step at a time. When we meet a hurdle. And, let us face it. Hurdles will come our way. We pray even harder. We strive even harder. We rely on Almighty God even more.
We remember Abraham. He was promised by Almighty God that his descendants would inherit a mighty nation. Which of course they did. Abraham never. Not even for a moment. Lost faith that God would not keep His end of the promise. Abraham did not live to step foot into the promised land. He never lost faith in Almighty God or His promise.
Scripture Readings: (Genesis 12, Genesis 26:3, Genesis 28:13) God first gave this pledge of land to Abraham saying, “I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the desert to the Euphrates River.” He then reiterated the vow to Abraham’s descendants until the time came for His people to claim their inheritance. (The Promised Land — Bible Story, Annette Griffin, 2022)What do we learn from this message. What do we see in the absolute faith Abraham had in Almighty God. We see. That no matter how impossible the obstacle may appear to be. There is no trouble on Earth, Heaven cannot heal. There is not one obstacle Heaven does not provide us an answer for. God provides us the strength and courage to battle on.
Conclusion. There is hope. What can we do? What can you and I do? Is it really so hopeless? IS IT?? We pray. This is the first and constant thing we do. Then we obey the instructions of Almighty God. God will provide us with all that is needed.
With Almighty God anything is possible.
Today’s song has a strong Christian message. With Almighty God we have nothing to fear.
What a beautiful and powerful song. It is one that reminds us of God’s goodness and faithfulness. He is always watching out for us, and we do not need to fear when He is on our side.
“Just thinking about the project, I knew I wanted to speak to anxiety,” he says. “The most arresting line to me was ‘let me begin and confess.’ You can’t focus if you’re not going to be honest about what you’re afraid of and how those fears may be causing you to get distracted. In that way, the song was also a challenge, because I didn’t come up in an environment where it was ok to admit fear. You try to hide it and mask it. This song speaks to this hope that you cannot only be honest about it, but it can be cast away.”
What a wonderful song with an incredible meaning. And with all that is going on in the world, it is a great song to remind us that there is no fear in Christ. He is our Redeemer. We are saved and made whole through him. (YouTube, 2023)
