The Lord Will Keep You From All Evil
Almighty God has promised not to lead us into temptation.
The book of 1 Thessalonians 2:18 reads, “Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but satan hindered us.”
Satan is found everywhere on the surface of the earth.
Ever since he lost the spiritual war in heaven and was shattered, and dislodged, he can not secure his place and position in the city of God again, as he is cast down to the earth (Revelation 12:7–12).
Being a spirit being, he can not function optimally unless he dwells in a vessel to carry out his programme or activities.
So sad to mention here is that the vessels in which the devil lives in, to showcase his evil works of darkness, are HUMAN BEINGS who do not believe in the true and the living God of righteousness.
Jesus Christ — the Holy One of Israel, in one of his sermons, was able to spell out in straight terms that transgressors, e.g. liars are the children of the devil.
This means that it takes SIN which is committed by an individual to make him or her become a child of the devil. Also, to become a child of God, he must be HOLY (live a life free of sin).
John 8:44 reads, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.”
1 John 3:8–10 reads, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
It is no longer breaking news for someone to say that the world is EVIL. It is because people are possessed by satan and they fulfill his desire always. It is very sorrowful to understand the fact that the world at large lies in the hands of the wicked (satan).
1 John 5:19 reads, “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”
Job 9:24(A) reads, “The earth is given into the hand of the wicked.”
From the above Context: Here we have seen how the Jews who were the true children of satan through their conduct and actions, left no stone unturned by persecuting the Thessalonian Christians: according to 1 Thessalonians 2:15, they were named the people who killed the prophets and even the Lord Jesus Christ. Besides, they become evil to all men. This same set of people who are called satan here, also prevented Apostle Paul and his son in the Lord (Timothy) who were seriously longing to pay a visit to the brethren in the Church of Thessalonica, from doing so. They incessantly unleashed attacks on the people of God, and the Church in general.
Hence, 2 Corinthians 2:11 reads, “Lest satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
Lord, I thank you for giving people the ability to do whatever they like with their lives so that they might be judged according to their works. Amen!
