Reflection. When all God’s people obey this Commandment. There would be peace and harmony on Earth.
Scripture Reading: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:31, NIV)
Do you ever dream? As I do. What God’s wonderful Earth would be like. When all God’s children live by this Commandment.
This commandment of Jesus, when followed. Leads to a world of peace and harmony. We might find it difficult to obey. Almighty God sees into our hearts. God loves us and wants us to succeed in this. God has given all His beloved children a magnificent gift. God the Holy Spirit now resides within us. God’s Spirit is there to help us as and when needed.
God the Holy Spirit gives us the strength and the guidance we need. We also have the Bible texts we have stored in our hearts. The Holy Word of God has many texts that teach us how to love others.
Scripture Reading: Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7–8, ESV)
Do you believe what an honour it is to love? All love has its origin in Almighty God. When we love the person who lives in the house next door. We are covering her with the love of Almighty God. We are sharing with her the love God has generously given to us. This act of love is a passing down of God’s love. It is such a blessing. To be able to love her in such a wonderful way. To pass on God’s boundless love.
We are not alone when passing on the love of God. God sends us His angels to minister to us and help us.

Have you ever pondered on the wondrous gift that our Almighty God has bestowed upon us? The gift of His angels. Psalm 68:17, says, “The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai into His sanctuary.” This verse tells us that each believer has numerous angels ministering to them.
The Holy Word of God is not definitive to how many angels each believer has assigned. For me, this is not important. The wonder. The marvel. The love behind God’s angels is that they are there for us.
How nearby are God’s Heavenly messengers? Are God’s angels here with us now? Are they as near as a silent whisper? Are they as close by as our dearest friend? Are they always there when needed? Are they there when we have forgotten them? Are they there when we forget to love our neighbour? Are they there when we feel unworthy to be loved?

How can God’s angels help us? I believe the ways are limitless. All we need to do. Is to bow in prayer to Almighty God and ask.
Scripture Reading: The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and He delivers them. (Pslam 34:7, ESV)
If indeed the ways that God’s angels can help us are limitless. The most important thing of all. Is to assist us in loving others. To leave behind our busyness. To truly and genuinely love those who need our care and attention. To put the needs of the other. Always before ours.
We silently usher a prayer to Almighty God. Asking Him to help us find time for our neighbour who needs our help. We walk next door to comfort and love our neighbour. We leave our worries and family till later. For now, our neighbour is our only concern.
Somehow we feel we are not alone. There is a calming presence felt. As we walk from our home to hers. There is a presence that brings us the strength needed. We may not recognise it now or at the time. Was it an angel? Sent from Almighty God. Ministering to us? Helping us? Providing the strength we lacked. Giving us the calmness and the peace that was needed. Whatever that presence was. It was accepted with true gratitude.
Whether or not it was an angel. I prefer to believe it was. The message was received loud and clear. You and I are not alone when shining the light of the love of Almighty God. We are never alone.
As true and faithful followers of our Lord Jesus. We are honoured to care for and tend to those around us. We feel it an honour to sit with a person who is a little sad and lonely. It is a joy to share the message of redemption and the forgiveness of sins. It brings us happiness to share in the blessings of others. To see the love in the eyes of children as they play peacefully together. To share in song in church. To share a meal with friends and family. All this we do in love. All this we do. Shining the light of the love of Almighty God. All this we achieve with the multitude of angels God has provided us.
Be an angel to someone else whenever you can, as a way of thanking God for the help your angel has given you. (Eileen Elias Freeman)

Jesus’ Greatest Commandment is to love one another. Can be achieved. When tackled with the assistance of one’s angels. Then it matters not what obstacles life throws in our way. We have the strength and the courage. To love the unloveable. To touch the untouchable. To be with the lonely and isolated. To be with those in prison or hospital. To comfort those needing our love. To bring peace where there is none.
With Almighty God and His angels. Anything is possible.
