God’s Peace!

The peace that I’m speaking of, will only come from above,
Peace God gives to His own, flowing down from His throne,
The peace of God all receive, when by faith they do believe,
The Gospel Truth of His Son, Christ, who died for everyone. Bob Gotti

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

A beautiful story of how the 23rd Psalm speaks to each of us.

David, as a shepherd boy. Long before he became the shepherd king. Penned this familiar poem. Our soothing and comforting 23rd Psalm. This song of love rings true of an intimate relationship between this simple shepherd boy and God the Creator of everything.

We all long for such a relationship with God our Heavenly Father. A partnership that is intimate and deeply loving. This is the personal and meaningful companionship that God offers to all who love and seek Him with all their hearts. “Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:23)

Picture a normal day in the life of David. The youngest of eight boys of Jesses’ first wife. Over three thousand years ago. He lovingly and tenderly cared for his family’s flock of sheep. “the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.” (1 Samuel 16:11b)

David, even as a young boy, took his responsibility as the carer of his family’s flock seriously. He knew deep within his heart that these sheep depended upon him for their very lives. “David knew the constant care needed to be a good shepherd and thus it provided a rich metaphor for God’s constant care for Him in Psalm 23.” (Joshua J. Van Ee)
