The Bible. Our Treasure Chest of God’s Riches
God’s Holy Word is our treasure chest. Of revelations and glorious stories.
How Great Thou Art!
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow’r thru-out the universe displayed!Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art! (Carl Boberg, in 1885)
Introduction. Almighty God loves us so. God has written in His Holy Word. A revelation into His nature, His divine attributes and mighty works.
There is no other book of greater importance or relevance to our life. No greater source for Christian living and personal spiritual growth. No other than God’s Holy Word. Our Heavenly Father Himself reveals to one and all. His promises of love and hope and peace and eternal life.
God’s Holy Scriptures are our guidebook on our journey of faith. Throughout our life of humble service to Almighty God. The Holy Bible provides the plan for each day.
Saint Paul in his letter to Timothy,
Scripture Reading: All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Understanding the inspiration of God’s Holy Word.
God’s Word to us is as no other text in all the libraries, in all our homes. The Holy Bible is a living and an active testament. God’s Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God Himself. This means it originates, finds its very beginning in and from God.
Almighty God communicated through human hands and minds. God used many men, who were moved by God the Holy Spirit.
Saint Simeon Peter, a servant and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, in 2 Peter 1:21,
Scripture Reading: For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
This Holy verse verifies that the Bible is a Spirit guided, man-written process. Therefore, every word is the inspired truth of our Almighty God. As you and I search for God in our precious Bible. The words written within are trusted and believed without question. The loving truth within reflect God’s divine will, His omniscient wisdom and love-driven commands.
Scripture Reading: And He declared to you His covenant, which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments, and He wrote them on two tablets of stone. (Deuteronomy 4:13, ESV)
God’s Holy Word. The Bible is God’s living, active and operative Word in the life of all believers still.
Scripture Reading: For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12, ESV)
The promise from Almighty God to each of His chosen ones written down. This is what the Bible is. The Holy Word of God expresses how to operate our life. The Bible speaks to our heart and teaches our mind. This insightful phrase implies how God reveals His very own character and nature.
If we allow God. The Bible transforms us. Changes our life. Fills our heart with His unfailing love. The Holy Word of God nourishes our heart and soul. Each word is a blessing to our soul. To be used in times of sorrow. We carry in our heart. Memorized verses.
In our days of humble service. Memorized verses. We use when seeing to the needs of others.
God’s Holy Word tells us to love all those we meet. Rich or poor. Black or white. Christian or not. Young or old. We love, tend to and care for all God’s people. Just as Jesus does. Throughout the Bible there are so many teachings. About the importance of caring for and tending to the needs of others.
Feeding the hungry and neglected. Clothing the poor and wretched. Giving shelter to the homeless. Nursing and giving medical care to the injured and sick. Giving sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf. Soothing the hearts and souls of the weary and broken-hearted.
How can we not feed and clothe them??? I, myself come alive when helping others. DO YOU??? I, myself feel Jesus standing close by. When helping a person unable to help herself. DO YOU???
We see the heart and unfailing love of our Father, God. In the heart of the needy. YES!!!
Scripture Readings: Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. (Hebrews 13:16, ESV)
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:10, ESV)
As you are commuting to work on your daily train ride. The lady sitting next to you is a little sad and apparently carrying a heavy load. You offer her a few words of comfort. At absolutely no cost to you.
Her heart is gladdened. Her day is brightened, just a little. Her soul is touched by Jesus and His tender love. Yes, it is at times this simple. You have taken this God-given opportunity. For this is surely what it is. God places this lady next to you. To be blessed by Jesus’ love through you and your caring words of comfort.
The greatest way to help others. The greatest way to bring Jesus to the world — PRAYER!!!
The power of Prayer. Prayer is a true act of unfailing love for and to our Heavenly Father. Sincere prayer expresses our belief and our faith in Almighty God.
Have you heard of the old expression, “God helps those who help themselves.”
Not only is this not in the Bible, but this is also not really true. If you hold onto this type of thinking you will nullify prayer’s power. (Clarence L. Haynes Jr.)
Well, my dear reader. This is all upside down. Our Father wants you and I to put our complete faith. Our absolute trust only in Him. And in Him alone.
Scripture Readings: Trust in the Lord, and do good,
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord,
and He will give you the desires of your heart.Commit your way to the Lord,
trust in Him, and He will act. (Psalm 37:3–5, ESV)
It is not a sign a weakness. When we are helping a family member or a close friend. To admit to ourselves and to them. We need to seek the advice and the help of God. This is precisely why Almighty God wrote His Bible. To give to you and to me the teachings that we need in such times.
Why our Father gave to us the precious gift of prayer.
And the greatest way to help others. Usher a silent prayer on their behalf to Almighty God. With their permission of course. Jesus does and shall perform His miracles if needed.
As we help all those who are in need. We always remember God is patiently waiting for us to pray. Our Heavenly Father listens to all our prayers and indeed answers all our prayers. So, as we soothe the troubled brow. We pray. As we feed the hungry. We pray. As we give shelter to the homeless. We pray. Whatever the need. Whoever we help. We pray. Ceaselessly, we pray.
