My dream. My one and true goal, each day is to be a child of God my Father who says. You are a child, “with whom I am well pleased”. (Mark 1:11) For me to succeed with this goal. To be obedient to God each day. To live my life as a living sacrifice to Him. Means growing closer to God Almighty. Actively deciding to obey Him with all my heart. So much easier said than done, yes?
When in doubt I always turn to God’s two books for inspiration, strength and guidance. Of course, God’s Word, the Bible. His first book is where I turn to first. “But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.” (Romans 6:17–18)
Many verses throughout the New Testament show proof to us that Jesus not only saves and forgives us. He also teaches us how to be released and “set free from sin.” (Romans 6:18b) Then I turn to His second book of lessons and inspiration. His book of Nature. Our Creator God must love trees because they pop up so many, many times in His Holy Word.
The most important tree in the whole of Christian history. Is also the tree we have adopted as our symbol. Christ’s cross. “And when they had carried out all that was written of Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.” (Acts 13:29)
