If you have ever driven past a field of young sunflowers you will be awestruck. This field appears to be producing a crop of miniature suns on elegant and strong stems. Each flower is reaching up and facing its bloom to the sun. Each miniature sun turns slowly during the day to stay aligned to its father, the sun. This miracle is unique in the world of plant life. And, like so many of God’s creations has lessons to teach us.
Sunflowers have filled scientists with curiosity and bewilderment for generations. “Why do young flowers move their blooms to always face the sun over the course of the day?” (Merri Kennedy) I feel why they perform their miracle, which is designed by God. Is not as important as the fact that they do. They obey their Designer. God their Creator.
I feel. I believe the lesson God needs us to learn from these miniature suns. His glorious sunflowers. Is: When we accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour. We are like young sunflowers. We need to grow daily…
