As people, we have an in-built desire to be part of… As individuals, we have, at times, an urgent need to have companionship. For true friends, who understand us for who we really are. Those friends that see past our superficial masks. To the genuine inner selves that cry out for meaningful relationships.
For friends who take the effort, time and trouble to know the real us. We are very, very, very lucky if we have such special people in our lives. These people are to be treasured. Are to be valued for who they are. Rare and precious jewels.
True friends such as these grow and evolve over many, many, many years. True friends such as these remain close. Even if geographically we may be far apart.
True friendship is an investment. Perhaps one of our most worthy investments. An investment measured in love, commitment, joys, sadness, heartbreak, appreciation and the most important of all time.
True friendship demands loyalty, honesty and forgiveness. Yes, true, genuine and sincere forgiveness. Forgiveness liberates and brings peace.
