Glorious!

There are times when
You might feel aimless.
And can’t see the places
Where you belong.

But you will find that
There is a purpose.
It’s been there within you
All along.

(Scott Wiley, 2014)

Reflection. Powerful is our Lord Jesus. Mighty is the Holy Name of our Redeemer. Our Home is found in Christ our Sovereign King. We live for Him.

Scripture Reading: The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in Heaven. (Hebrews 1:3, NIV)

Powerful and mighty is our Lord Christ Jesus. Holy and righteous is the Name of God the Son. Jesus is the exact representation of His Father God. Almighty God created all there is, and all there ever shall be. God is so mighty and so powerful.

Scripture Readings: When God created the universe, He spoke it into existence. “The Word became flesh” (John 1:14). Creation begins with God speaking, and then a new creation begins when this speaking “Word” of God becomes a human being in the flesh, the living and active person of Jesus. (Bing, 05/06/2024)

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14, NIV)

Seven hundred years before the miraculous birth of our Messiah. God Almighty’s prophet Isaiah spoke,

Scripture Reading: For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)

MIGHTY GOD MEANING. Jesus is God the Son. Christ is Superior. Over all others. Mighty and powerful. We belong to Jesus. We find our Home in our Lord and our Redeemer.

The precious and God given names of the Messiah. Christ’s names represent His attributes and define His character. Each name of Jesus the Son of God representing a unique attribute. Each name bestowed upon Jesus speaks of a specific characteristic. Each name defines who Jesus our Lord truly is. When seen combined they speak of Jesus’ power, might and, His unlimited love for us.

When we speak of Jesus truly being mighty God. This title when spoken in Hebrew has two different words. The first is “El” and is always to be spoken softly and with true reverence. “El” — God. Jesus is God the Son. “El” therefore refers to Jesus Christ our Lord, our God.

Secondly, “Gibbor” speaks Jesus’ Holy name as superior, strong, powerful and, mighty. Isaiah also points out that the Messiah will be the One true God.

Isaiah was saying that when this child was to be born one day in the future. He would be the One true God and that as God. He would be full of superior strength and might. Jesus is just this. Jesus the great Creator. Jesus the Great Physician. Jesus our Redeemer and the Great Rescuer. Jesus surely is mighty and powerful.

Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus as God the Son has all the attributes and characteristics of His Father God. Yet, He is of Himself God the Son. Jesus came to the Earth to offer all humanity His salvation. The Redeemer came down from Heaven as a living sacrifice. Through the precious and perfect blood of the Lamb of God. All men may be reconciled to God the Father. Jesus the “El Gibbor.”

JESUS, THE MIGHTY GOD. Jesus the Great Worker of Miracles.

One of my all-time favorite testimonies of Jesus as The Mighty God is found in Matthew 8:23–27 when Jesus rebuked the winds and the waves during a storm, and suddenly it was completely calm. (Jason White, The Grace Blog)

Scripture Reading: Then He got into the boat and His disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey Him!” (Matthew 8:23–27)

The power and the love of God the Son. The supernatural powers of Jesus Christ — the Worker of Miracles.

The Bible contains many stories of Jesus performing miracles. Some of the most well-known include:

Healing the sick and disabled (Matthew 4:23–24; 8:1–17; 9:1–8; 12:9–14; 15:29–31; 21:14–15; Mark 1:29–34; 2:1–12; 3:1–6; 5:21–43; 6:53–56; 7:31–37; Luke 4:31–41; 5:12–26; 6:6–11; 7:1–10; 8:40–56; 13:10–17; 14:1–6; 17:11–19; 18:35–43; John 4:46–54; 5:1–9; 9:1–41; 11:1–44).

Feeding the multitudes (Matthew 14:13–21; 15:32–39; Mark 6:30–44; 8:1–10; Luke 9:10–17; John 6:1–14).

Calming the storm (Matthew 8:23–27; Mark 4:35–41; Luke 8:22–25).

Walking on water (Matthew 14:22–33; Mark 6:45–52; John 6:16–21).

Raising the dead (Matthew 9:18–26; Luke 7:11–17; John 11:1–44).

The Bible also contains many verses about miracles and healing. (Bing, 05/06/2024)

For me. The biggest miracle of all. I am saved. I am reconciled once more to God Almighty. I walk once more in the loving presence of God the Father and His Son, Christ Jesus. For me, no greater miracle can there be. To walk daily and for eternity in the loving presence of God Himself. I am loved. I am truly and forever loved.

For me, no greater miracle there ever shall be. Jesus gave His very life for me. Jesus left Heaven and the love of His Father for me. The perfect Lamb of God bled and died for me. Jesus Christ rose victorious over death after three days in the grave. Jesus by the power of God Almighty rose from death. Now I live for eternity and beyond with Him and His Father. For me there is no greater miracle than this. Through the love and sacrifice of Jesus my Redeemer.

Scripture Reading: All are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood — to be received by faith. (Romans 3:24–25, ESV)

Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Ephesians 5:2, ESV)
