One Prayer We Have is to Be Nearer Our God to Thee

Reflection. Seeking true intimacy with the Creator. An invitation into God’s Holy presence and His love. Walking closely with God. Finding eternal hope and life’s purpose in Almighty God.

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the House of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple. (Psalm 27:4, ESV)
Almighty God is our Refuge and our ever-present Shelter. The Almighty One is the God in whom we seek our protection. Sadly our world at times. It is a dangerous and a scary place at times. The Holy Word of God tells how God is our,

Belonging to the One who loves us. Saved by Jesus our personal Redeemer . Being adopted into the divine family of our Heavenly Father. Grants us safety and protection from the Evil One.
God is our perfect Father. God is the Almighty One. God is a Heavenly Father who loves to loves and then to love some more. Our Father’s love for each of His children is deep, intimate and oh! so very personal.
Being an adopted member of God’s divine family. A beloved child of our Heavenly Father. Is such an honour, such a blessing divine. You and I realize. Being member of the divine family. Takes faith, effort and is a life-time of commitment.
We would need a trillion life times. To learn all there is to know about God Almighty. Our love for God our Father. At times is all-consuming.
Our love at times. Our deep, intimate and personal love for the Heavenly Father reaches for the sky. It is because of our ever increasing love for God and His Son Jesus. You and I need to know of and about the One. Who knows our hearts and created us. God created us to love Him with all our being. God our Heavenly Father loves us to the point of death.

But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8, NIV)
One thing we learn about God our Father. Almighty God wants us not only. To be satisfied with knowing about Him. Through the Holy Word of God. Saint Paul talks of God desiring a relationship with each of His children.
Do we hunger and thirst for God’s Holy presence? As did Saint Paul, as he spoke of in his letter. In our prayers we whisper to the One who is patiently waiting. Do we pour out our hearts in our words heard in Heaven? Is our lifetime goal? A personal relationship with Father God. Which is so deep and oh! intimate. We grow nearer and more familiar with Almighty God by reading His Holy Word. We know Him and understand why He loves us so by listening to God the Holy Spirit. Better and better we know and love God our Heavenly Father every day. by listening and by reading.

Our Heavenly Father, God has demonstrated once more His love for all the little ones. Almighty God wrote a way for us all. To know about Him and His nature. God Himself wrote His Holy Word. We can say the Bible is God’s autobiography.
There is no better book to read for us to find God Himself. The more we read God’s Holy Word. God’s own writings. The nearer to God we are drawn. Each page we turn. Every chapter and each book we study. Takes us closer to their author. You and I draw near to God Almighty. As we turn each page. Every verse memorized. Places a treasure in our hearts. Every treasure is a weapon to be used against the evil one in the times of temptation.
Time spent meditating on Bible texts when speaking to Almighty God in prayer. Strengthens and empowers each prayer. Memorized and meditating on specific Bible verses. Adds joy and depth to our prayer life. Adds color and life to our prayers with our Heavenly Father. Each little prayer draws our Father so much nearer.
Conclusion. One Prayer We Have is to Be Nearer Our God to Thee.

God has granted to all His beloved children a gift beyond wonder. A blessing which is at our disposal at all times. Whenever we feel like speaking to our Creator — we pray. When life gets a little to hard to tackle on our own — we pray.
The more we pray. The closer God our Heavenly Father draws near to us. The nearer we are to our Heavenly Father. The nearer we want to be. So we pray. And we pray some more.
