PRAYER. SPEAK TO AND LISTEN TO ALMIGHTY GOD.

Prayer is exhaling the spirit of man and inhaling the Spirit of God. (Unknown)

As is the business of tailors to make clothes and cobblers to make shoes, so it is the business of Christians to pray. (Martin Luther)

Reflection. God the Creator made prayer. A connection between mankind and Him.

It is natural for me to start my day with a simple prayer. I have formed a habit now. As soon as I wake up. As soon as I open my eyes. I pray. Not a fancy and long-winded prayer. Just a few brief words said quietly to the One I love more than any other. A few words of gratitude for the peaceful rest under the protection of God’s love.

A few words of guidance through my brand-new day. Then, and this I place before God. The protection, blessing and love of Almighty God over my family. “O! Almighty God keep them safe and let them feel you close.” Then I step from my bed. Ready and willing to tackle whatever life may bring.

It has become natural for me. To seek God in prayer when troubles and heartaches come my way. I am a lady who knows who I am. I know of my abilities. I am fully aware of my limitations. I believe. O! I believe. Almighty God is my fortress and my protector. God is my strength and my guide. When troubles and heartaches come knocking on my door. I fall onto my knees before the Heavenly throne of Almighty God.

In my weakness. God is my strength. In my fear. God gives me the courage I need. When life feels dark and falling apart. God and His light fill my heart with His love. When I cannot find the answers I need. God’s Holy Word is the truth and the wisdom I seek. When family and friends are far away. God is nearby. Through prayer, God draws close to me. When I am sad and brokenhearted. God holds me in His mighty hand. I am never alone. God never leaves me alone.

On my knees before the Heavenly throne. On my knees before Almighty God in prayer. I speak to Almighty God in prayer. I speak to God believing. Always believing. God is listening. God hears my prayer. The prayer of a broken heart. The prayer of His beloved child. As I pray. I feel my load lifted. A quietness softly washes over me. A quietness I have been seeking. The familiar quietness of Almighty God’s peace. The loving peace of Almighty God’s love. This is the beauty. The wonder. The marvel of prayer. I walk once more in the Holy and loving presence of Almighty God.

Prayer “O! Thank you Almighty God for always listening to and answering my prayer. Thank you, AMEN!” (ME)

Scripture Reading: The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace. (Numbers 6:24–26, NKJV)

In our times of heartbreak. We turn to Almighty God in prayer.

God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it. (John Wesley)

In this sad and confused world. We all have days when loved ones leave us with broken hearts. We are blessed. We are loved. Almighty God has created for us, prayer. When we kneel before Almighty God in prayer. We believe anything is possible. We have witnessed this for ourselves. We have read this for ourselves. Reading the Holy Word of God. Reading the Word of God, that is written by God. Thereby, the Bible is the truth and nothing but the truth.

We read. Noah when partnered with God. Built the arc and saved all creation. Moses parted the water. Allowing the Israel nation to escape the Roman army. These and many other miracles are recorded faithfully in the Bible. Almighty God never changes.

Deep within our hearts. We believe Almighty God still performs His miracles. All we need to do is ask Him in prayer.

Good things come to those who believe, better things come to those who are patient and the best things come to those who don’t give up. (Oswald Chambers)

Our child may be very ill. Our physician tells us. Only a miracle can save her. We recall the miracles told to us in the Gospels. We know who performed these miracles. None other than Jesus, the Great Physician. Jesus is God the Son. God never changes.

We fall onto our knees once more before Almighty God. This time it is for a miracle. This time we are specific. This time we earnestly believe every single word. We lay out our prayer for this miracle. With all the faith we have. Throughout this prayer. We believe, that the prayer is answered. We thank Almighty God for listening to and answering our prayer for this miracle.

We return to the bedside of our child. We patiently wait for God’s answer. In love and gratitude, we patiently wait upon God.

Then there is the opposite. We have something we have lived with most of our lives. It is trivial. Do we bother God, the Creator of everything? With this trivial matter. Do we?

Scripture Reading: Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden. (Unknown)

I have been burdened with something small and trivial most of my life. Believing Almighty God is too busy. I will not bother God with something as insignificant as this. Then I remembered. God is infinite. God has all the time He needs for me. I, once more fall on my knees in prayer. Asking first for God’s forgiveness for not telling Him sooner. I lay out my problem. I realised it was not as trivial as I first believed. For what it was doing. It was putting up a cement wall between God and me. I pulled that wall down, with this confession. I am now free from this problem.

Scripture tells us who God really is. He’s not a God who loves from afar. He’s a God who cares about the details of our lives. Nothing is too small to present to Him. Nothing escapes His attention, His care, and His love. (https://proverbs31.org)

Almighty God loves you and me so very much, that He,

Counts the stars and calls them all by name. (Psalm 147:4, NLT)

Scripture Reading: God Heals

He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3, ESV)

Conclusion. A prayer to heal a broken heart.

Dear God, I humbly come before You, seeking Your divine intervention in the area of emotional healing. I acknowledge that I am broken and in need of Your touch. Lord, You know the pain and turmoil that I have been carrying in my heart. I ask that You would heal the wounds that have scarred me and bring restoration to my emotions. “God Help Me” Reminds us to pray to God in our need.

Despite growing up in church, Chad Mattson, lead singer of the Christian band Unspoken, had been losing his battle with addiction until God answered a simple prayer. “I prayed this simple prayer: It was just,God, help me.’ Years later that life-changing prayer would develop into a song.
