How Great Thou Art!

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

(Carl Boberg, 1885)

Reflection. All creation sings God’s praise. We worship the magnificence of our Creator. We stand in awe. At the beauty of His creations.

Scripture Readings: All the Earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You, they sing the praises of Your name. (Psalm 66:4, NIV)

For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12, ESV)

Oh! Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the Earth! (Psalm 96:1, ESV)

If all God’s people have only reason. To stand in utter amazement at God’s creation. For us star gazing cannot be matched. Standing quietly and still in reverence. On a crisp and a clear moonless night. When even the light of our nearest neighbor, the moon. Is vacant and does not diminish our view. God’s ever expanding universe. Our amazement for God’s creation. His ever expanding and glorious universe. His wonder. Our Creator’s miracle is so grand in its beauty and in its glory. The bewilderment felt in our hearts at God’s creation. Takes our breath away. No words can be found. In their place. A silent prayer is ushered to its Creator, our God.

The countless stars, the comets just passing through our solar system, our neighboring planets. Just to name a few. We gaze up at the Creator’s wonders in awe. We stand in utter amazement. Realizing each of His sparkling stars came into being out of His love for us. God the Creator spoke. All there is and all there ever will be. Came to be.

Scripture Readings: By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of His mouth all their host. (Psalm 33:6, ESV)

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. (Hebrews 11:3, ESV)

For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm. (Psalm 33:9, ESV)

Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of His might and because He is strong in power, not one is missing. (Isaiah 40:26, ESV)

When I choose to go into my little garden. And spend some time with the Creator. Face His wonder of wonders. The ever expanding universe. At times I am looking up. Until my aching neck. Say’s “enough already.” But, after resting my aching neck a little. While I pray a few words of gratitude. For being able to be in God’s presence this way. In our Creator’s presence. Under the canopy of His amazing stars. We worship and we sing as never before. You and I praise His Holy Name.

Where ever you and I go on the miraculous planet. We are in the presence of God’s creations. Whether strolling on our favorite beach with our children. The children’s joy and their innocent laughter. Are songs to our hearts. Their simple way of just being in the present. Just building sand castles. Just to have the high tide make them disappear.

God’s beach. God’s greatest gift to our lives. Our Heavenly Father’s most wondrous blessing to our home. Our children. What a loving combination. God’s peaceful beach + our most beloved children. Life and love cannot get any better than this. We are walking in the presence of the Creator. On our favorite beach with our beloved children. We pause as they play. We pause as our children build their sand castle. We pause and whisper a prayer of praise to our Creator. For this most wondrous day. We bow our heads in our songs of worship. The Creator also created us and this most wondrous day. May our Creator be praised! AMEN!

Children are a gift from God. They are our reward for a faithful life of service.

Scripture Readings: Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. (Proverbs 17: 6, ESV)

Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. That man shall have the help he needs when arguing with his enemies. (Psalm 127: 3–5, TLB)

When escorting our children. Always remember they are a true and a wondrous gift from our Creator. And always treat each child as such. A gift of love from the One. Who also created you and who made me.

Just glance down at your hand, dear reader. The mere fact that your thumb and fingers are nimble. Your hand can pick up utensils and prepare your family’s meals. Yes, your hand is a true miracle. Your hand is a creation of God, the Creator. Touch one finger with another. The gift of touch. To sense hot, cold, softness, the roughness of a tree’s bark. The infinite variety of God’s nature. It would take far too long to list all the wonders achieved by the gift of our hand. May God be praised. The human body in of itself a true wonder.

The human body performs incredibly complex functions on a daily basis. The wonders of the human body are evidence of a very intelligent Designer and Creator. (Bill Jahns, Life, Hope & Truth Blog)

Conclusion. From the vastness of God’s expanding universe. To the wonder of the human hand. All creation is remarkable.

Each atom. Every star. Every person is a wonder. We bend before its Creator and worship His Holy Name — -ALWAYS.
