Nearer to God. We are. Through the Blood of the Lamb of God
On His soul-saving cross. Jesus Christ paid the price for our sin. Now our song forever shall be. “Nearer, my God, to Thee.”
Nearer, my God, to Thee.
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.Or, if on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I’ll fly,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.(Lowell Mason, 1856)
Reflection. Nearer to God. We are. Through the Blood of the Lamb of God. On His soul-saving cross. Jesus Christ paid the price for our sin. Now our song forever shall be. “Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!”
On His wicked and soul-saving cross. Jesus bore our sin and purchased our eternal life. We passed from the darkness of our sin. To the light of His love. Now our song of praise forever shall be. “Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!”
Scripture Reading: For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. (Romans 3:21–25, NLT)
God Almighty. God our Father so loved His people. “For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin.” (Romans 3:25, NLT) This is how much our Father, God loves you and me. God sent His only beloved Son Jesus. To pay the price for our sin. Now we walk alongside Jesus. Every day we walk in the Holy and loving presence of the Almighty One.
We have never been loved as God loves us. We never will be loved as Jesus loves us. Jesus is in Heaven at the right side of God. Jesus is our Mediator. Jesus speaks to God the Father for us. With those beloved and eternally scarred hands. Jesus holds our hand and guides us. Jesus is with us every step of our way Home.
Jesus is our perfect sacrifice. Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God paid the price for our sin. Now and forever. We are children of the light of God the Father. No longer do we live in the darkness of our sin. Praise the Holy Name of Jesus our Lord, our Redeemer, our God.
As children of light. We live pure and sinless lives. Reflecting the light and purity of our Lord Jesus.
Scripture Readings: You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. (1 Thessalonians 5:5, NIV)
In the book of 1 John 3, it says: “Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure.” So, as children of God, we are called to live in the light and reflect His purity. 🌟(Bing, 12/06/2024)
When I am tempted by Satan. I picture Jesus in the desert. He is weak and weary. After 40 days and 40 nights without food and without water. Jesus our Lord is so very tired. His body is worn from hunger and thirst. Satan senses this. The devil takes advantage of our Lord’s weakness. Satan tempts our Lord thrice. Our Lord is equipped with Scripture text. Satan fleas. Our beloved Jesus was tempted. But no sin is found in Him.
When we are weak and tired. This is the time Satan takes advantage of us also. This is the very time the devil tempts us. The devil uses our weakness and our times of fatigue. To try to separate us from Jesus with temptation. We are not alone in our battle against Satan. You and I not alone in our struggles against temptation. Jesus and His love are with us every step of the way. We see the battle Jesus faced and won. We feel Jesus’ hand in ours. We are victorious over the battle. With Jesus. We are conquerors — ALWAYS.
Scripture Readings: But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57, ESV)
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. (1 John 5:4, ESV)
We are so very much loved by Jesus our Lord. You and I are so fortunate. We have a God. God the Son is with us in our daily battle. Against Satan and his lies.
Scripture Reading: For the Lord your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory. (Deuteronomy 20:4, ESV)
With Jesus and His triumphant love. We are given victory over temptation. We are led from the darkness of sin. Into the glorious light of Jesus’ love. Jesus steps into the trenches with us. Jesus is with us in every battle.
Our Lord equips us with all that is needed. Through His Spirit. God the Holy Spirit abides within each follower of Jesus. God the Holy Spirit is a blessed gift of God the Father. Given to each follower of Jesus. At the moment we accept Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord.
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. (1 John 5:4a, ESV)
Saint John delivers a promise from Jesus. So profound it changes lives. To all who place our faith in Jesus. Through Jesus we are conquerors over sin. It transforms us from children of this world. It changes us from children of darkness. We were once lost in the darkness of sin. This promise from God Almighty changes our lives forever more. We have conquered sin and its grasp on our lives. We have overcome this world. We now walk in the Holy presence of Almighty Work. We walk in this world. But we belong to the Kingdom of God.
This is how much God the Father loves all His children.
God sent His one and only beloved Son. We are given eternal life. A wondrous life. Lived with and for Jesus our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer, our God. We live our lives in humble and loving service to God the Father.
On the cross, Jesus took the punishment we deserved for our sin. He did not deserve to die, but He willingly took our place and experienced death for us. Jesus’ death was a substitution, “the righteous for the unrighteous” (1 Peter 3:18), the innocent for the guilty, the perfect for the corrupt. (Got Questions Blog)
