I Love You Lord!

I love You Lord,
And I lift my voice.
To worship You,
O my soul rejoice.
Take joy my King,
In what You hear.
May it be a sweet sweet sound,
In Your ear.

(Lori Klein, 1772)

Introduction. Love Almighty God with all we are. For this is how much He loves us.

Scripture Reading: The most important one, answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:22–30, NIV)

Almighty God’s instruction. God’s command for us. Is to love Him completely. God’s command comes because, “He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19, NIV) There are times. And this is only natural. There are days when we find ourselves falling short. We love our Heavenly Father always. But at times not with all we are.

When these times happen. When we find ourselves loving God less than completely. We open afresh our hearts to receiving more of God’s unceasing love.

Almighty God is instructing us to love Him. God is commanding us to love Him with all we are. You and I are to love God, the Father with a love so deep and so true. An affection for Almighty God. He is our everything.

We love our Father more than any other person. We think of Almighty God the very moment we awake. The first word from our lips is a prayer. We pray to our Father. At the close of each day. And for each and every moment in between. All our thoughts, actions and prayers. Are for God and His love for us.

Our Heavenly Father is the center, the core of our existence. God is the reason for each decision. Almighty God is the source of our love. God is the foundation of our faith. In God we trust completely. Yes, we love God with all we are.

Scripture Reading: And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. (Matthew 22:37, ESV)

Love God Almighty with Biblical love — sacrificial love. For this is how our Heavenly Father loves us still.

Scripture Reading: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16, NIV)

Standing at the foot of Jesus’ cross. The true and eternal definition of Biblical — sacrificial love is found. Looking up into Jesus’ eyes. We do not see condemnation or judgement. You and I see LOVE. We see nothing else but LOVE.

At the foot of Jesus’ wicked and soul-saving cross. Jesus teaches us Biblical — sacrificial LOVE. His eyes show us love. Jesus’ eyes speak to our hearts the dearest and sweetest love.

What does Jesus teach us as we stand at the foot of His cross? We are to love all God’s people. With a deep and a meaningful love. A love which gives and keeps on giving. A love which never expects anything in return. Our reward when loving others in this fashion.

Jesus loves us in return. Jesus grants us a reward more meaningful in our lives. God’s love is more valuable to us than gold or silver. Biblical love grants all children of God. A peace that is most wonderful. Jesus’ peace brings our heart a calming which vanishes all fears.

No person will ever love God. As much as He loves you and He loves me. No matter how much we hurt our Heavenly Father. No matter how many times we turn our back on Christ. Jesus, our Lord and our personal Savior will always love us. Almighty God loves us still.

Scripture Reading: If you love Me, keep My commands. (John 14:15, NIV)

To love our God completely and always. Is not simply based on discipline. It is a life-long commitment of humble obedience. It is a life-long commitment of daily walking in His presence. It is a life-long commitment of confessing each sin. It is a life-long commitment of giving all we are to God. Never holding anything back. Then and only then. Are we loving God with all we are. Giving our life and our love completely to the One who loves us so.

Almighty God whispers into our soul. “Don’t let go.” When our strength is weak. In the terror of the storm. Almighty God is strong. His love will carry us through our darkest storm.

Scripture Readings: He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. (Psalm 107:29, ESV)

Who is like You, LORD God Almighty? You, LORD, are mighty, and Your faithfulness surrounds You.

You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, You still them. (Psalm 89: 8–9, ESV)

The darkest storms of life surround and threaten us. You, as me, have literally been in the center of a storm. A family crisis of epic proportion. With God as our Father. We came through victorious. Stronger, more faithful and more loving in God than, before.

For even in the midst of life’s storm. God’s hand kept hold of ours firmly. Even in the darkness of our night. God’s light and His love filled our heart and our soul. Not for a moment did God leave us to struggle on alone. In the midst of our storm. God Almighty stood firm. As did our faith, our love for and in Him.

Almighty God’s love in our heart is so overwhelming. His love not only gives us the ability to pass through life’s storms. God’s love gives you and me the ability. To soar above the storms of our lives.

Scripture Readings: But those who hope in the Lord.
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31, NIV)
