I love You Lord.

I love You Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship You.

O my soul rejoice
Take joy my King.

In what You hear
May it be a sweet, sweet sound
In Your ear.

(Laurie Klein, 1978)

Introduction. Jesus our LORD stresses “ALL.” These three little letters. Teaches us. Not only to love Almighty God. To love God with ALL we are — ALWAYS!

Scripture Reading: And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37, ESV)

All through God’s Holy Scriptures. God Himself commands. Each person is to love Him with ALL our heart, ALL our soul, and ALL our mind. This is not a mere passing suggestion. This is a loving and an eternal command. From the One who created us to love Him.

With every beat of our hearts. We love God Almighty. With every breath we take. We love Jesus our Savior. With every action we take. We show all people we meet. Our devotion and our dedication to God the Father. With each word we speak. We speak the Word of God. To those we care for and we serve — ALWAYS.

This is not an easy command for us to obey. To love Almighty God with all our being. Life has so many distractions. Family commitments. Pulling us this way and that. Work may or may not be satisfying. Again pulling our love away from God. Life’s busy-ness distracting us from the One who loves us so.

Then we realize. We owe God our very existence. We would not be alive. If it were not for Him, our creator. You and I once more place our focus in our Creator. All our love in God Almighty.

In order for us to fulfill this loving command. To love God with all our being. As with anything else pertaining to our spiritual journey. We need to first fully understand. What is needed to obey. Our Heavenly Father does not leave us to accomplish this alone. Almighty God is always here. Our Heavenly Father is always here to help and to guide us.

As with all divine instructions from Almighty God. We turn to God’s Holy Word for His guidance. The first time God commands us to LOVE Him is in Deuteronomy 6:4–5. Jesus added another quite invaluable dimension. Three simple and yet life-changing letters — ALL.”

Scripture Reading: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. (Deuteronomy 6:4–5, ESV)

To love your God with all our being. We must always remember God is a personal/intimate Father. Almighty God not only loves each of His people. Our Heavenly Father also rewards us with many blessings and spiritual benefits.

Scripture Reading: Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations, and repays to their face those who hate Him, by destroying them. He will not be slack with one who hates Him. He will repay him to his face. (Deuteronomy 7:9–10,ESV)

To love God is to enjoy God’s sustained favor. (Jason DeRouchie, Desiring God Blog)

Benefits of loving Almighty God with all our being:

  • Redemption from a life of sin.
  • Born into a new and eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
  • Forgiveness of sin.
  • Through the saving grace of Jesus.
  • Removal and cleansing of sin.
  • As far as the east is from the west.

Benefits of loving, truly loving Almighty God. Loving God “with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37, ESV) Redemption from a life of sin. We are born into a new and an eternal life in the Kingdom of God.

Through the saving grace of Jesus our Lord. We receive salvation from our sin. Freed from the reward sin brings reconciliation with our Father. Freed from the chains of death and eternal separation from our Heavenly Father. Through Jesus we are born into an eternal life. We enter into the Kingdom of God.

We have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour and as our Lord, God. We have confessed with all our hearts. Jesus Christ is the one and only beloved Son of Almighty God. Believing with all our hearts Almighty God. Raised Jesus from death to eternal life. After three days in His grave. Believing in the Holy Name of Jesus.

We have accepted Jesus as our Savior. Through the saving grace of Jesus. We also are raised into eternal life with Jesus. You and I will live for eternity in Paradise. Our future destination is the Kingdom of God. Almighty God is waiting at the gates of His Heavenly Kingdom. With open arms outstretched for us.

Scripture Readings: The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. (2 Peter 3:9, ESV)

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. (Romans 8:18, ESV)

Other benefits of loving, truly loving Almighty God. Forgiveness of sin. Through the saving grace of Jesus. Removal and cleansing of sin. As far as the east is from the west.

It is a fact and yet a sad fact. As hard as we try. We still fall short of the glory of God Almighty. We stumble and we continually fall. We don’t do what we try so hard to do . We do what we try so hard not to. We sin and sin and sin again. It is like being on a see-saw. We have little control over.

Scripture Reading: There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:22–24, ESV)

We acknowledge and we appreciate the price. The pure and the innocent Lamb of God paid. Jesus Christ sacrificed His very life on our behalf. Every time we sin. We feel the pain we have caused Jesus. Yes! You and I feel the pain our sin has caused the Lord we love. “With all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37, ESV)

Time and time again. The same old sin we commit. We kneel before the Holy throne of God. We kneel before our Heavenly Father. We once more confess our sin. Once more Jesus forgives and forgives our sin. Once more our sins are removed.

Scripture Reading: He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
The Lord is like a Father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear Him.
For He knows how weak we are;
He remembers we are only dust. (Psalm 103:12–14, ESV)
