Upon retiring my hubby and I purchased a caravan and did a little ‘grey’ no madding. To say it didn’t suit me — well — Australia is just so darn BIG! So, we settled on a friend’s property, giving me time to what? Col was very happy, he thrived on the isolation. Me, I went a little — no a lot — stir crazy. The wide-open plains just wasn’t for me. Grand/breathtakingly beautiful — yes. Isolated — yes!
What was I going to do all day every day? What was I going to do to answer the loneliness? No, no, no. What had we done? Then a thought, no a dream hit me like a flash of lightning. I had a big — no enormous — dream. I have never been a person to do things small if you know what I mean. My dream was big. God gave me this opportunity to fulfil a passion. I grabbed this opportunity with both hands, leapt into my future and…
I was completely confused — how to accomplish this dream of mine? I was living in the middle of nowhere. Was I just a little crazy? No, I was going to make this dream happen. Yes, it was going to start and start then and there. I took pen to paper, detailed all that was needed, took a trip to my nearest big city and well my exciting journey began. Purchases were made, and people were contacted…some of my boxes ticked. WOW! I was actually on my way.

My mother started as a watercolour artist when she retired. I saw the first time she put brush to paper. To say this was a life-changing moment for my mother as her unknown dream came true — well yes! My mother never even thought of painting till she tried — to say she had a gift — well — yes!
And, her first painting, we had it framed and although sadly my mother is no longer here — her painting is. Throughout her life, my mother lived for others. Her watercolour painting was her chance to do something for herself, something she loved. To my mother, the simple joy of watercolour painting was a miracle and a gift from God to be cherished.

Now, here I am in 2022 living in Moree. I have fulfilled my passion by finding the courage to set out on this journey. And not quit till I get there.

Too often we tell ourselves answering our dream is just too hard, too complicated and far too risky. Remember by following your dream you are creating a whole new life for yourself. And, believe me, it is truly worth all the hard work, all the risks and hurdles on the way.
I had times of course when I almost quit. Times when family members hinted I was more than a little crazy for trying. When a search on Google told me there were too many others doing what I wanted to do for me to be successful. But I chose to ignore these sceptics and jumped into unknown waters — feet first. But, the joy I found from answering my simple dream — blanketed out their whispers of doubt.
I love life now — it is not perfect — but I am living my dream! Who can ask for more? I am not rich in the eyes of the world — but I am RICH! I am rich in the knowledge a dream answered and lived is indeed worth more than all the gold in the world.
Your future awaits! Your future — your dream — belongs to you. You believe in the beauty of your dream, as I believe in the beauty of mine. Now, do you feel it is time? Keep dreaming and you will find your future will unfold. It did for me.

Be brave enough to start! Perhaps, for you now is the time to simply (metaphorically speaking) put one foot in front of the other. Take the tiny steps needed to make your dream happen. Only you know what your dream is. Only you know what to do to make it happen. Only you know what tiny steps are needed every day to get you to your goal. And, get to your goal you will. Your dream will be answered. The life you have longed for will happen. It did for me, so I know it will for you.
Taking your first step and then tiny steps every day knowing the path taken leads to your dream life. This is how I got to my goal, how I achieved my dream. Tiny steps are taken every day and no backsliding is allowed. Sometimes it appeared like I was getting nowhere. Sometimes the inner voice screamed it is just too hard. But my faith and my inner determination were louder than any doubts. And get there I did. I got to my destination and it is better/greater than I dreamed.
Think of it this way — the Great Wall of China is so immense one can see it from outer space. Yet it was built from tiny bricks one brick at a time.

WOW! You have reached your destination your dream has come true. You got there! All the hard work — is worth it! All the risks are taken — are worth it! All the setbacks — were faced head-on. Now is the time to Stop, Reflect and Think back on your success. I do, other minor and major successes hinged on me answering my dream and never giving up.
You are unique, and therefore too is your dream. This inner voice calls you to follow your passion to create the life you’ve longed for. This ‘yellow brick road’ no one else even sees. You too have unique obstacles and hurdles you and you alone can identify. Trust me you will not be alone in facing them. I wasn’t.
You must trust this inner calling. This voice of unknown and unchartered adventure only you can follow. Only you know the true you. Only you know what will make your life fulfilling. Only you can make your dream a reality. And, believe me with the courage you have — happen it will!!!

By nature, we all have lives we are used to and are comfortable with. Chasing our dreams means in some way or another leaving our comfort zone and embracing change. I am glad I did — though for me it was a little easier than for some. Living on a very isolated property didn’t feel comfortable at the time.
And, of course, when taking our daily tiny steps to our dream destination we also face the fear of failure. I know I did at times. Truth be told I had only myself to worry about and any risks are taken only impacted me. So on I went regardless. Committed to my dream and faced obstacles as they arose head-on.
Now we have achieved/reached our dream. Now, what’s next? Well for me I have discovered-or more realistically-it discovered me-another dream.
So, here I go again. Taking new leaps, bounding over new hurdles, and taking tiny steps every day. I know precisely what my new dream is and what goals I need to take to achieve it. I will get there, shed some tears, find some joy along the way — get there I will. I thrive on hard work, learning new skills and persistence is my new middle name.
You have, even if it is only in your imagination, for now, arrived at your dream’s destination. WOW!!! Congratulations! You have arrived. Just like happiness — you crave for more. You have another dream niggling at your heart to be answered/fulfilled.
And fulfilled it WILL BE!!!
