OUR LORD HAS PROMISED TO HEAR US. WE CALL ON HIM. NO MATTER WHO WE ARE.

God did not direct His call to Isaiah — Isaiah overheard God saying, “. . . who will go for Us?” The call of God is not just for a select few but for everyone. Whether I hear God’s call or not depends on the condition of my ears, and exactly what I hear depends upon my spiritual attitude.” (Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest)

Reflection. God’s invitation to Him is open to all.

Scripture Reading: For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13, ESV)

This verse provides a simple and inclusive invitation for salvation. It states that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Romans 10:13 emphasizes that salvation is not restricted to a select few but is available to all who call upon the name of the Lord. It highlights the accessibility and universality of God’s saving grace for all people. (SCRIPTURESAVVY.com)

Saint Paul is emphasizing that both Jews and Gentiles alike are offered Jesus’ gift of salvation. This means everyone is offered the gift of salvation. Almighty God wants all His people in the Kingdom of Heaven. God’s heart and His love are open to everyone.

I was born in Coventry England. My parents longed for a better life. They had read many articles about Australia. They fell in love with the warm climate and the offer of friendly people. So, they read as much as they could get their hands on about the so-called, “lucky country.” Then when I was about 8 years old. Out we came.

For me. This is how we change our life of darkness. We are dissatisfied with the life we are living now. The world we are living in. Is not our home. The things we choose to do. Do not bring us the happiness our hearts seek. When our hearts are broken. Our friends and family. Cannot and do not offer the comfort and love we need. The fancy clothes and expensive car. Do not bring us the joy, promised to us. There is a hole in our hearts that longs to be filled.

We feel a longing. We feel a need. Then one day. It may be in a small wooden church on a hillside. Or. In a tent on a cricket ground. Where an Evangelical meeting has been organised. Or. In the privacy of our bedroom. It is the calling of Jesus Christ. Jesus reaches out His hand in love. Jesus offers His gift of salvation. Our heart answers — YES.

Scripture Reading: Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6, ESV)

For me. This calling completely and forever changed my life. Yes, I was made new. Yes, the old me was gone. Yes, I now live for Almighty God and Jesus, His Son. Each day begins with prayer. Each day ends with prayer. Prayers are sprinkled throughout each day. Bible study, for me. Is as needed as the air that I breathe. Spending time with my Heavenly Father through His word is pure joy. I learn of God and His Son. I read of adventures, wars, healings and miracles. I learn about Jesus’ life, ministry, death and resurrection. I learn of the creation of all there is and the creation of humanity. All this and so much more. Is to be found in the Holy Scriptures.

The Holy Scriptures are a true wonder to be held within our hearts

Wherever Jesus has been proclaimed, we see lives change for the good, nations change for the better, thieves become honest, alcoholics become sober, hateful individuals become channels of love, unjust persons embrace justice. (Josh McDowell)

As dedicated and devoted disciples of Jesus our Lord. We drink daily the living water of Jesus. We drink daily of Jesus’s love. We hunger and thirst for His love and the truth of and about our Lord. We sit quietly each day. Reading the Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament. Our hearts are filled with the life, the mission, the cross and the resurrection of our Lord. Our hearts are filled with the love shown to those Jesus meets.

Scripture Reading: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12, ESV)

The simple wonder in the literacy of these books. Takes our breath away. Many of the books are eyewitness accounts. Or trusted statements from those who knew these eyewitnesses. The Gospels. As all the other Books in the Bible. Are to be trusted. They were inspired by God, the Holy Spirit. Written by men who had the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit at the time. So, it is true. God wrote the New Testament about Himself. For, Jesus is God the Son. Jesus is God.

For the rest of our lives. We find quiet time to spend with God through His Holy Word.

God’s wondrous gift to all believers-PRAYER.

True prayer is a way of life, not just for use in cases of emergency. (Anonymous)

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (Anonymous)

Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of the night. (George Herbert)

A true ambition for all sincere believers is constant prayer. It is by establishing a life of continuous prayer. We live constantly in the presence of Almighty God. For us, there is no better place to be. To live a life constantly speaking to and listening to God. Is a life of wonder and a life filled with love. Each moment is joy and peace like nothing this world can offer.

Prayer can unlock the chains that bind us to this world. Prayer can heal broken hearts. Prayer can heal the heart, body and soul. Prayer forgives and unites us with the Almighty God. Prayer lifts the lowly and strengthens the weak. There is nothing that cannot be achieved by prayer.

Conclusion. Each day. Every prayer. Draws us nearer to Almighty God.

Scripture Reading: And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:15, ESV)

“Come As You Are,” God’s invitation to all.

The Meaning Behind The Song: “Come As You Are.”

The lyrics serve as a reminder to accept others as they are, understanding that we all carry our complexities and struggles. (Beatcrave, 2023)
