Jesus was Raised to Love. His Sacrificial Love Saved Us
Jesus assumed the nature of humanity. To save and understand us.
Scripture Reading: And He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, “you will see Heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” (John 1:51, ESV)
Reflection. Jesus Christ Himself used this Holy Name, Son of Man. His human nature Christ had assumed on our behalf. This is how much the Son of Man loves us.
Jesus’ humanity mattered. Jesus was conceived by the Spirit and full of the Spirit of God, but He was birthed by Mary and born as a man. His ability to sympathize in all of our weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15) and not sin (2 Corinthians 5:21), means He was and is the only one who could redeem us. (Kyle Blevins, Crosswalk.com)
This human nature is assumed to designate the lowly position of Christ. This is in sharp contrast to His divine nature.
The Way He was Raised.
He always wore those worn out flip-flops
Spent hours in His Daddy’s workshop
He loved being on the water
Fishing with His friends
He always listened to the old folks
When they’d tell stories and crack jokes
Didn’t talk back to His Mama
When she got onto Him. (Josh Turner)
Do we realise the significance of this? Jesus left Heaven and His Father to come to Earth for you and me. Jesus is God the Son. Jesus is God. God is love. Jesus took on the form of humanity for us. Jesus was then and is for eternity human. Why did Jesus take on the nature of man? Jesus Christ knew this was the only way to save humanity from its darkness. Jesus’ humanity was the only price to be paid for humanity’s sins.
Jesus Christ’s sacrificial love replaced the animal sacrifices of the Old Testament. Jesus Christ is the perfect and only Lamb of God. The blood of the Lamb of God washes away all humanity’s sins.
Scripture Readings: Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. (Hebrews 9:22, ESV)
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:7, ESV)
For this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sin. (Matthew 26:28, ESV)
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29 ESV)
The above verses and so many more in the Holy Word of God. Speak of the love of Jesus Christ our Savior. In the times before the shedding of the blood of the Lamb of God. People could only be cleansed of their sins through animal sacrifices.
What makes the sacrificial blood of the Lamb of God so powerful?
It is because His blood is the blood of Jesus our Lord, Saviour and God. The power of the sacrificial blood of Jesus our Redeemer. The sacrificial blood of our Lord Jesus not only washes away our sins, and provides eternal redemption. The blood of the Lamb of God gives Spiritual protection. Because Jesus is God the Son. God is perfect with no fault to be found in Him. Jesus was the perfect, and final sacrifice for humanity’s sins.
Scripture Readings: For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul. (Leviticus 17:11, ESV)
To be able to forgive us of our sins. Blood has to be shed. Almighty God teaches that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. We picture ourselves at the foot of Jesus’ cross. We are saddened and so confused. Before us is our beloved Lord and great Teacher. We have been with Jesus throughout His ministry. Through His Gospels we have learned of and about Jesus. Now we stand at the foot of His wicked and soul-saving cross.
Do we realise Christ’s primary purpose for coming down from Heaven was to die in our place? Do we? Jesus our Savior suffered and bled on His tree that day. Yes, Jesus, God the Son bled on His cross that day. When He died on that cross, He shed His blood. When the Roman soldier plunged his sword into the side of our Lord. Out poured blood and water. Signifying the broken heart of Jesus. Also signifying the sacrificial love of Jesus that day.
The blood of the Lamb of God washes away our sins. As far as the east is from the west.
We must. Without hesitation. Accept Jesus as our personal Savior. We must without a shadow of a doubt. Accept the blood of the Lamb of God washes away our sins. With heavy hearts. We must accept the death of Jesus. By your complete and absolute faith in Jesus. Before we can gain victory over our sins. Before we can quieten our ever-screaming conscience. Before we can quieten our ever-burdened guilt complex. By faith, we must accept the sacrificial death of Christ Jesus. Before we can return to the waiting arms of Almighty God. We must by faith accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior.

“The Way He Was Raised” is sung from the heart of Josh Turner.
The Meaning Behind The Song: The Way He Was Raised by Josh Turner.
I have always believed that music has a unique way of touching our souls and conveying emotions that words alone cannot express. One song that has resonated with me deeply is “The Way He Was Raised” by Josh Turner.
Highlighting the ultimate sacrifice of a longhaired boy. The mention of a cross on a hill points towards the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, symbolizing the ultimate act of love and redemption. Through His sacrifice, all sins are washed away, and the young man’s upbringing and character find their ultimate significance.(Christina Chung, BeatCave Blog)
