Jesus, the Great I AM. Lord of All Creation
As we visit Jesus in His manger. We are in the presence of the Lord of all creation.
Jesus Lord of all creation.
Scripture Reading: All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3, KJV)
Reflection. The love. The wonder. The miracle. The truth of Jesus. Lord Jesus is far more than our Savior. Christ is also our Creator.
Christ’s creative role goes beyond making all things in the beginning. Jesus is also the primary agent of our re-creation when we are born again. Second Corinthians 5:17 assures us that “if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Jesus is the author of our new life in Christ. (John Koessler, 01/01/2024)
This article, my dear reader focuses on Jesus the Creator of all there is.
Scripture Reading: The Preeminence of Christ.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in Heaven and on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent. For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on Earth or in Heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross. (Colossians 1:15–20, ESV)
Colossians is a letter written to Christians living in Colosse, by the Apostle Paul approximately in A.D. 60–62 while imprisoned in Rome. These six verses are the greatest ever penned by the human mind. These familiar words hold for us such a foundational and all-encompassing truth. These beloved words of Jesus’ Apostle are boldly and courageously Christ-centered.
Saint Paul teaches us that Jesus “is the image of the invisible God.” This is the cornerstone of Christian ideology. This statement affirms for all believers. Our Lord Jesus is both divine and human. Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully Man. Jesus Christ is God the Son and the Son of Man. We may not fully understand the nature of Jesus. By faith, we accept this. This statement by Saint Paul. Calls all believers to praise and worship the Holy Name of Jesus — ALWAYS.
This article concentrates on Jesus’ power and majesty over creation. “All things were created through Him and for Him.”
Scripture Reading: For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him. (Colossians 1:16, KJV)
Jesus as the Creator is a reason to sing His praises. As we stroll in a grassy meadow. On a glorious autumn morning. We feel the presence of our Lord. Feeling the gentle breeze on our cheeks. We sense Jesus here alongside us. Yes! It was Jesus. Who at the beginning, created this beautiful meadow and all it contains. The flowers. Of many colours. The grass beneath our feet. The trees of varying heights. The trees are the home of birds and insects. The clouds scattered across the sky. Promising an autumn shower, tomorrow perhaps?
Yes, Jesus our Lord created this meadow just for us. Jesus is God the Son. God is love. Jesus created this meadow through and out of His unlimited love. Jesus walked such a meadow. When He was here on this Earth. Jesus may have spotted a beautiful butterfly. His perception was a little different from ours. For Jesus was the creator of this butterfly. We picture this beautiful and tiny creation landing on the finger of our Lord. Knowing, somehow knowing who He was. Jesus was her creator. Jesus was the Person who cared for and tended to this tiny creation. Jesus knew the days of this creation and provided for its needs.
Strolling through our meadow. God may bless us with a tiny and beautiful butterfly. We look at it a little differently this time. We see it through the eyes of Jesus. We see it through the eyes of love. It was designed to perfection. This tiny creation has a divine purpose. Its life has a sacred meaning. It is important to Jesus. It must be important to us. It has a message from Jesus. Jesus loves us. Jesus loves us.
Jesus the Creator of all there is. Jesus the Creator, made you and me.
For us. This is love beyond all imaging. Who are we that Jesus loves us? Who are we that Jesus should have created a being such as you and me? Then we see ourselves as Jesus does. We are worthy of loving to the point of death. Yes, even His life is on the tree. Jesus loves all God’s people so much. Jesus sacrificed His life so those who accepted Him now live eternally.
“All things were created through Him and for Him.” All creation was made for Jesus our Lord.
Do we realise how wonderful this statement is? We belong to Jesus. From the moment of our creation, we are His. From the moment of our creation, we belong to and we are loved by our Creator. No matter where we are. No matter who we are. No matter how many times we hurt Jesus by our sins. We are Jesus’ creation. There is nothing that can separate us from our Creator and His unceasing love. Even when we feel isolated and so very alone. This feeling is merely an illusion. The truth is. We belong to our Creator. We are loved. Truly and deeply loved by Jesus.
