It is Well With My Soul.

When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll.
What ever my lot You have taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Though the devil will ruin, though trials may come
Let this blessed assurance control.
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate
And He shed His own blood for my soul.

(Ira Sankey, Horatio Spafford and Philip Bliss, 1876)

Reflection. We have a God, Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus the Prince of Peace. Jesus brings to our lives. His soothing and His calming peace.

Scripture Readings: Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27, ESV)

I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33, ESV)

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3, ESV)

I am blessed. I am loved by God the Father. For I live in a small and a peaceful country town. Even so, may my Heavenly Father forgive my lack of faith. My lack of faith in His love and His comfort. For me. There are still days. When even my life is far from peaceful and calm. There are moments when Jesus’ presence is absent.

There are still times. Where my heart and my spirit are spinning wildly out of control. When in bed. I toss and I turn. Trying to solve my own problems. See to my own salvation. When life takes me for its frightening roller coaster ride. I choose at times not to get off.

Scripture Reading: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6–7 (ESV)

Then the still/small voice of God, the Holy Spirit I pay heed to. Then on to my knees before the Heavenly throne of God. I bend once more. I bow my head in a prayer to my Father for His peace. I pray for the peace of Jesus. Which transforms and transcends. This time when I fall down. It is in a posture of prayer to the One who loves me so. This time when I fall down onto my knees. I seek the peace of Jesus to change my sadness and heartache. Into the peace that transforms my sadness into the joy of His love.

The peace that Jesus our Lord gives to our lives. Is not the mere cessation of our troubles and our anxieties. Our Lord’s peace is not just the absence of conflict and war. No. His peace is far, far more than this. The blessed peace our Lord offers is eternal. Peace! Jesus’ soothing and calming peace is like no other. Our Beloved’s blessing of everlasting peace. Is a gift which keeps on giving.

Then we remember to reach out to the One. Who is Peace. Jesus the Prince of Peace.

Scripture Reading: For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)

When we reach out our hands. And our hearts to the Prince of Peace, Jesus. Reaching out in prayer to a God. Who loves us so very, very much. Jesus our Lord answers our prayers. He wants to takes away all sadness. Our Lord desires to transform all heartache. Our beloved Savior longs for us. In our sadness to reach out to Him. Jesus our friend offers us His Sacred and His Divine solace. Our God has a gift of wonder. Jesus our Prince of Peace has a blessing which transcends all our sorrow. We in our sadness and in our heartache. You and I in our prayers. Reach out our hand. And take hold of the peace of Jesus.

Saint Paul, a beloved Apostle of Jesus our Rabbi. Speaks to our troubled spirits.

Jesus Christ our Lord. Our Savior. Our God. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Jesus’ peace brings with it Sacred and Divine power.

Scripture Reading: And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7, NIV)

This verse highlights the significance of receiving the peace that Jesus provides. It is a gift that surpasses understanding and has the power to bring inner tranquility even in the midst of life’s challenges.

To truly experience the peace that Jesus offers, we must first acknowledge Him as the source and surrender our worries and anxieties to Him. By placing our trust in Him, we can find solace and rest for our weary souls. (Scriptural Thinking Blog)

This precious, familiar and beloved verse. Written by Saint Paul over two millennia ago. Is still oh! Relevant to us today. Our hearts. Our spirits are put at such soothing peace.

For our Lord, Jesus Christ does not only. Bring to our lives His soothing and His ever lasting peace. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Jesus does not only gives us His gift/His miracle — PEACE. Our LORD, our GOD is the Prince of Peace.

We are so very loved and so very blessed. Jesus, God the Son. Jesus the giver of our ever lasting peace. When Jesus’ peace enters our hearts. When our spirits overflow with the peace of Jesus. All is well with our souls.
