Jesus LORD of Lords. Jesus’ Holy Name is to Be Revered
Holiest of all names! JESUS. Revere the Beloved Son of Almighty God.
What a Beautiful Name.
You were the Word at the beginning
One with God the Lord Most High.
Your hidden glory in creation
Now, revealed in You our Christ. What a beautiful Name it is, what a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King.
What a beautiful Name it is, nothing compares to this
What a beautiful Name it is, the Name of Jesus.(Brooke Ligertwood, Hillsong Worship, 2017)
Reflection. The LORD of lords. The King of kings. Jesus’ name was bestowed on Him by God the Father in Heaven. Holy is the Name of Jesus.
Scripture Reading: Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in Heaven and on Earth and under the earth. (Philippians 2:9–10)
Devotion and dedication is to be shown. When speaking the Holiness of Jesus’ name. Reverence and awe are the deepest emotions displayed. When in the presence of our Lord Jesus. Firmly entrenched in the Holy Word of God. Are the instructions on how to display our reverence for Jesus. Almighty God’s Archangel Gabriel first spoke the Holy Name of Jesus. As he instructed the virgin Mary on what to name her future son.
Scripture Reading: And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus. (Luke 1:31, ESV)
Saint Paul appreciated the reverence at which the name of Jesus must be held. When in the presence of Jesus we address Him as sacred and divine. We always recognize Jesus as God the Son. Always appreciate Jesus is the beloved and risen Son of God Almighty. Jesus is in all ways equal to God the Father.
At the Most Holy Name of Jesus. We kneel in true and sincere reverence. Speaking the Holy name of Jesus is done as a sign of reverence— ALWAYS!
Throughout our spiritual journey. When praying to God the Father. Each prayer is ushered to Heaven in the Most Holy Name of Jesus. Invoking the Most Holy Name of Jesus in this manner. Provides power to all our prayers. WHY??? The Most Holy Name of Jesus brings the power of His name.
There is great and sacred power in the Most Holy Name of Jesus. You and I bring our Saviour, our LORD, our God near by. Jesus draws close to us. As you and I recite His Most Holy Name. Reciting the Most Holy Name of our LORD in faith and in love. Draws us close to Him. And brings true power to all our prayers.
Reciting the Most Holy Name of Jesus in love. Speaking the Most Holy Name of Jesus with all our faith in our hearts — Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Speaking “Jesus” with genuine courage, with sincere faith and with all the love in our hearts. Speaking “Jesus” casts out all our fears and arouses in our hearts ever-lasting trust and faith in our Lord Jesus.
Here is the prayer of Saint Bernardine of Sienna, the Franciscan. He spoke so deeply and reverently. Always, when speaking the Holy Name of Jesus.
Prayer: Jesus, Name full of glory, grace, love, and strength! You are the refuge of those who repent, our banner of warfare in this life, the medicine of souls, the comfort of those who mourn, the delight of those who believe, the light of those who preach the true faith, the wages of those who toil, the healing of the sick. To You our devotion aspires; by You our prayers are received; we delight in contemplating You. O Name of Jesus, You are the glory of all the saints for eternity. Amen. (My Catholic Life Blog)
Jesus the Word. God the Son is the Person behind all creation’s existence. Without Jesus you and I would not have been formed.
Scripture Reading: The Word Became Flesh
He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:2–3, ESV)
Saint John’s Gospel chapter one clearly establishes “Logos” is the Word. Saint John confirms Jesus in indeed identified as equal with God the Creator. John confirms all creation has a beginning. All that was made. Came to be by the Word, “Logos”, Jesus the Son of God.
Scripture Reading: The Word Became Flesh.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1, NIV)
This verse again gives us reason to revere to Holy Name of Jesus. Jesus the Word (Logos). We stand is reverence in the presence of the One. Who is the reason for our being.
The last thing that John establishes in John 1:1 was that the Word was in the beginning, and the Word was God. This clearly points to the divine nature of Jesus. (Bing, 06/04/2024)
WHY??? Is the Jesus the Word to be held most Holy? Saint John’s Gospel clearly states Jesus was not only present at the beginning. Jesus was identical in all ways to Almighty God. Jesus was equal to the Father God in power, in majesty and in divinity. God the Creator worked hand-in-hand with Jesus the Word as He created all there is.
There so very much for us to learn in John 1:1. I believe we can study this spiritually packed verse our entire lives. Every day we shall find another reason to revere Jesus the Word.
Everything in creation came to be. Through the power and the Word of Jesus, God the Son. Jesus was with the Creator God at the beginning of the creation story. Without Jesus the world would not exist.
Conclusion. Jesus God the Son. Jesus is the Son of God. Speaking the name of God always done with reverence.
Jesus is God the Son. Jesus is the Word (Logos.) When speaking the name of Jesus. It is done in Holy reverence — ALWAYS!
