Let the light of Jesus Christ guides us, Home. Turn away from the darkness of sin. Turn away from all fears.

Light Within.

And though you may feel all alone
Trust the light to guide you Home
Your candle in the dark to heal.

Turn away
Those fears are gone
Turn away… give no place in your heart.
Come what may
You’re not alone
Come what may, oh I’m coming to bring you Home.

Reflection. There are moments we feel desperately alone. In our times of need. We take hold of the hand of our Lord Jesus. We are never alone.

Scripture Readings: We are not alone! God is there to provide “mercy and… grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Later, Paul writes, “For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5). Thus, Peter advises, “[Cast] all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (I Peter 5:7).

We are never alone. Jesus has promised. He will never forsake us. Jesus is God the Son. God is Love. God is Love. God is Love.

Our Lord Jesus suffered as we do. Our Lord, our God had times when His friends and family walked away. Jesus Christ suffered moments of desperate loneliness. Picture Jesus praying in His garden of Gethsemane. On the eve of His crucifixion. His disciples. Jesus’ closest friends could not even stay awake and pray with Him.

In our times of desperate loneliness. When friends and family turn away. When comfort from human hands is far from us. We are loved. You and I are deeply and personally loved. A love which takes away our loneliness. An intimate love which banishes all feelings of isolation. A love which fills our hearts to overflowing.

Our Lord Jesus was abandoned. By the One He adores and loves above all others. As Jesus hung on His wicked and soul-saving cross. His beloved Father turned His back. As Jesus carried the sin for all humanity. God Almighty turned away from Jesus, His one and only beloved Son.

In such agony. You and I cannot even imagine. In desperate loneliness. Only the Son of God could bare. Through His love for all humanity. Jesus in need for comfort and love from His Father God. Jesus cried out to His Father. God is Holy and cannot be where sin is. God had no choice but to turn away. Jesus’ heart was broken. As the Roman soldier pierced Jesus’ side. Blood mixed with water seeped out. Jesus’ heart was broken.

Scripture Readings: The phrase “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?” is spoken by Jesus on the cross in both Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34. It is a quotation from Psalm 22:1, which expresses the anguish of the psalmist who feels abandoned by God1. Jesus may have used this phrase to identify with the suffering of humanity and to show the depth of His sacrifice1. Some also believe that Jesus experienced a temporary separation from God as He bore the sins of the world2. (Bing, 08/07/2024)

Our beloved Lord Jesus. Truly knows what it is like to be desperately alone. Take His hand. Believe in His eternal promise — ALWAYS. We are never alone. Take Jesus’ hand. Feel the love of God the Son pour softly into our hearts. Feel the love of Jesus our Messiah surround us. From the moment of our salvation. Till eternity and beyond. We walk hand in hand with Jesus in the Kingdom of God.

We, you and I have our Lord Jesus who ‘will never leave you nor forsake’ us. NEVER! It is not Jesus who has walked away. It is you and I who have wandered away. Far from the loving and calming presence of Jesus our Companion. Let us turn back to the One who loves us more than His very life. For as we read His Precious Gospels. Jesus our Redeemer loves us so much. Christ purchased our eternal life with His perfect love. This price was paid so we are able to walk eternally walk in His loving presence.

Walking and abiding daily in the Holy presence with our Lord Jesus. Banishes all loneliness. Loneliness is not even a distant memory now. All around us we feel the love from our Redeemer. All around us is the peace of Jesus our Comforter. All around us we hear the praise of His angels. We are not alone. We never shall be alone.

Scripture Readings: I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. (Genesis 28:15, ESV)

This verse reassures us that God is always with us, watching over us and keeping His promises. It reminds us that we are never truly alone, as God’s presence is with us wherever we go. (Scripture SAVVY Blog)

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10, ESV)

In times of fear and discouragement, this verse reminds us to trust in God’s presence and strength. He promises to help and uphold us with His righteous hand, giving us the courage and endurance we need. (Scripture SAVVY Blog)

Let the light of Jesus Christ lead us on our path of faith. Let the candle of our Lord Jesus free us from all fears.

You and I are faithful and trusting disciples of our beloved Lord Jesus. We read daily of Jesus’ life and His mission in His Gospels. We cherish His teachings. We cry at Jesus’ sufferings. We walk with Jesus on the dusty roads. As He preaches the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. We witness just a few of His many miracles. We feel Jesus’ love for His beloved disciples and Apostles. And sadly, we stand at the foot of His wicked and soul-saving cross. We hear of our Lord’s promise. We shall be with Him in Paradise.

We, as we read His Gospels. You and I are walking with Jesus. We are spending a little time with the Savior, the Redeemer. We are in the presence of the One sent by Almighty God. We are in the presence of the One who loves us so. We are in the presence of the One who purchased us. Through the precious blood of the Lamb of God.

Reading the Gospels. We are in the presence of Jesus our Lord, our Redeemer and our God. Who do we read about. We read about the light who takes us from the darkness of sin. We read of the One who transforms us into the children of light.

Scripture Readings: Jesus tells His followers to walk in the light while they have it, before darkness overtakes them. (John 12:35–37, ESV)

Jesus says, “I am the light of the world.” Those who follow Him will never walk in darkness. (John 9:5, ESV)

Jesus our Lord has returned us to His Father in Heaven. We no longer are able to be physically with Him. We have the wondrous gift of the Holy Word of God. You and I can indeed spend time with our Lord Jesus. We spend time with Jesus by reading His Gospels. We pray to our Heavenly Father for the assistance of His Spirit. God the Holy Spirit will guide and teach us as we read. God’s Spirit will open our minds and our hearts as we read. Our understanding will be opened. By God’s Spirit. God’s Holy Word is far beyond human understanding. God the Holy Spirit opens our hearts and our minds. As we read. We understand. We cherish every word of the Gospels.

With the assistance of Jesus’ Spirit. We are with Jesus. We are walking hand in hand with our beloved Lord Jesus.
