The Sermon on the Mount is recorded in Matthew’s Gospel Chapters 5,6 and 7.
Jesus taught His disciples and the large crowd that had gathered around Him. This sermon centres on how God wants us to treat one another. This is the very foundation of Jesus Christ’s Gospel. His good news to the world.
The gospel of love. Where each person supports, cares for and holds dear every person they meet.
What a wonderful world this would be. If each of us Jesus’ followers was caring and a supporting person. An individual who, with the love of Jesus in her heart. Without thought of herself. Helps care for and holds dear all those who need her love.
This world would shine with God’s magnificent love if each follower of Jesus. Constantly demonstrated a true and pure heart. A heart filled with empathetic understanding for the plight of other people.
A heart ready to forgive when she has been hurt. Knowing that she has been challenged by God to forgive others. So that God through Jesus can forgive her of her sins.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
