Reflection. Lord Jesus is our lighthouse. Our Lord’s love leads into His light. With Jesus, we become children of the light.

Scripture Reading: For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. (Ephesians 5:8–10, NIV)

Jesus, our Lord, our Savior and our God shower such tender love into our hearts. Jesus shed His perfect and unblemished blood on the tree. His life Jesus gave freely. As one and final price for our sins. On His wicked and soul-saving cross. Jesus bled, suffered and died. As Jesus hung on His cross. In such horrid agony, we cannot even imagine. He cried out. Through cracked lips, Jesus cried out. Jesus’ throat was parched and dry. Many hours hanging in the sun had Jesus suffered. Jesus cried His prayer to Almighty God. His prayer for eternal forgiveness echoes down through the ages to us.

Scripture Reading: Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His clothes by casting lots. (Luke 23:34, NIV)

As I type these words of love and forgiveness into this article. I am reminded once more. Just how much our Redeemer loves us. He ushered up His prayer to God. For our forgiveness also. Our Lord Jesus loves you and me. Jesus Christ loves you and me with such unceasing love.

Can we? Even for a moment. Picture in our minds. The agony our Lord Jesus was suffering. When He cried this prayer. Our Lord was fully man. Our beloved Lord Jesus could feel pain — just as we can. Our Lord was fully God. He could have. If He so wished. Stepped down from His wicked cross. Jesus loves all God’s people with such never-ending love. Jesus chose to suffer, bleed and die. So we have an opportunity to live in Him.

Jesus was oh! So weak and bleeding from the torture and horrid wounds. When the Roman soldiers nailed Him to His cross. Jesus had suffered for many, many hours. Our Lord had endured hours of whipping and torture at the hands of the Romans. Our beloved Lord Jesus had been spat upon. Our beloved Lord Jesus had crowds humiliate and jeer abuse at Him. Jesus’ close friends had betrayed and abandoned Him. When Jesus needed His friends the most. Jesus’ friends and disciples ran in fear for their safety.

Jesus through pain, thirst and heartache such as we will never suffer. Our Lord with no thought for Himself. Cried out to His Heavenly Father. “Father, forgive them.” Our Lord’s prayer covered our sins also. Jesus hung on His cross and cried out His prayer. He was crying out for you and me.

We stand at the foot of the cross. What do we see in the eyes of our beloved Lord Jesus? We behold the love of God our Rescuer. God is Love. What do we feel? Jesus looks deeply into our hearts as He cries out His prayer. In our hearts, we feel a soft and gentle stirring. We feel more love than we have ever felt before. Jesus ushered this prayer as He suffered and died. Jesus ushered this prayer because He loves us. Jesus Christ loves us because He is God the Son. God is Love.

The tomb is empty. The Lord Jesus has risen. Jesus stepped from His tomb victorious over death and sin.

Scripture Readings: Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell My brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see Me.” (Matthew 28:10, NRSV)

Mark 16:1–8 The three women who bring spices to anoint Jesus’s body on the morning after the Sabbath find the tomb is empty. An angel tells them that Jesus has risen from the dead. Mark 16:9–11 Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene outside the tomb near Golgotha early on the Sunday morning before sunrise.

We read in Jesus’ Gospels. Our Lord Jesus stepped victorious from the empty tomb. We picture it in our minds. Three long days of heartbreak and grieving later. We stand outside Christ’s empty tomb. Our Rabboni, our Teacher is there before us. The tomb is empty. The burial clothes are neatly folded. Where the body of Jesus our Lord once lay. There before us is our Lord, our Teacher and our God. What do we feel all around us? We feel the love of the Son of God. God is Love. We feel the peace of our Lord Jesus surround and comfort us.

This moment has changed the history of humanity. The empty tomb miraculously presented all humanity with an invitation. That when accepted changes our lives. This empty tomb signifies life over death. This empty tomb signifies eternal life in the Kingdom of God with Jesus. Our Lord Jesus is our Redeemer. He reaches out His hand in love. We gladly take Jesus’ hand. You and I accept eagerly His invitation for salvation.

Scripture Readings: Having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised Him from the dead. (Colossians 2:12, ESV)

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12, ESV)

Once we accept this miraculous offer by Jesus for our salvation. You and I work tirelessly to bring others walking in the darkness of their sins. We work always to bring others Home to the Kingdom of God.

The audio music video for today is especially inspiring. It is about the life of our Lord Jesus.

What an amazing video of Nathan Pacheco’s song ‘His Love.’ In the video, the talented vocalist is Curtis Morely. The videography was done by Josh Sales, and the audio recording was Tyler Castleton’s work.

“Thank you to everyone who watched this video! We had a blast being able to produce this for you!” the team wrote in the caption of their YouTube video.

The video starts off with a piano playing beautifully in the background while statues around a garden are shown. Then Curtis comes into view in a forest and starts to sing ‘His Love.’ The song is just wonderful to listen to, and it is filled with so much truth about God’s unending love.

‘His Love’ is by Nathan Pacheco who, is an opera-trained tenor who sings with the warmth of the great pop artists. He is also a Washington DC native of Brazilian descent. Nathan expresses his love of languages by writing lyrics in Italian, Portuguese and Spanish with the passion of a poet. “I sing from my heart,” says Nathan. “Because that’s the way they do it in Brazil.”

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this rendition of ‘His Love’ today! (Nathan Pacheco)
