In this world of chaos and heartache. We are the instruments of Jesus’ peace and comfort.

Instruments of Peace.

Where there is hatred, let me bring love
Where there is doubt, let me bring faith.

Where there is falsehood, let me bring truth
Where there is pain, I’ll comfort you.

Where there is silence, let me sing praise
Where there’s despair, let me bring hope.

Where there is blindness, let me bring sight
Where there is darkness, let me bring light.

And with these words I speak
Grant that I may not seek
To be heard but to hear
To be consoled but to console,
Not to be seen, but to see
To be loved but to love.

(Kirk Carroll Dearman, Deby Dearman, 1916)

Reflection. As we look around us. All we see is chaos and conflict. What we see is decay and death everywhere we glance. We are Jesus’ instruments of peace, comfort, hope and love.

Scripture Readings: Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Matthew 5:9, ESV)

Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. (James 3:18, ESV)

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14, ESV)

As we look around us. In this wondrous and glorious world our Creator made through His love. In this world which Almighty God made. A world to be filled with His love and many blessings. In this world which our Heavenly Father created. A world which should be filled with His peace. We look around. We do not see much love. You and I do not see much peace. Our hearts break at what should be. Our gentle hearts break at what God must be seeing.

The hymn for this article was written in the middle of WWI. Which claimed the lives of 16 million military men and women. Not much love was found during this tragic time. Yet on one Christmas Day. In the trenches. Weapons were laid aside for a full hour. Soldiers on both sides. Sang for one hour Christmas carols. They did not understand the language of the enemy. They understood the love of the child they were celebrating. The child of peace — Jesus our Messiah. The beloved Son of Almighty God. If only the whole world knew this blessed peace — ALWAYS.

Our Creator made this world for humanity. Our Creator made this world out of His love. Our Creator made all there is so man could see His love. All that was made. Was for man to praise and worship the Holy Name of Almighty God. This world is a visible sign of God’s love. All we see is sadness, heartache and conflict all around.

The perfect and glorious garden that was made by God. Is no longer accessible to mankind. We are separated from God by sin. We no longer walk in the presence of God the Father. There is only one way back to the presence of God. There is only one path leading us Home to God Almighty. The way back to God. The way Home to the Kingdom of God. Is through the saving grace of Jesus Christ His Son. The way Home to the Kingdom of God. Is bought through the precious blood of the Lamb of God. The price for our eternal life. Is the perfect and sweet blood of the Lamb of God.

Scripture Readings: John 1:29 says, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”. This verse is a reference to Jesus Christ, who is often referred to as the Lamb of God in the Bible. The phrase “takes away the sin of the world” refers to Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, which is believed to have atoned for the sins of humanity. Other Bible verses that mention the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world include 1 John 1:29, Hebrews 9:27, and Romans 3:23. (Bing, 04/07/2024)

Our gentle hearts are saddened so. All we see is chaos, conflict, decay and death. All we hear is fighting, hatred and abuse. We long for the love of Almighty God. Our hearts yearn for the peace of our Lord Jesus. We pray to our Father for the inner strength to be the instruments of Jesus’ peace. We pray to Almighty God. For the strength to be the comfort needed for his people — ALWAYS.

Scripture Readings: If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. (Romans 12:18, ESV)

And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:18, ESV)

We are faithful and dedicated servants of Almighty God. Wherever God calls us we gladly go. Whatever our calling. We humbly obey. Whatever our Father’s sacred plan and His divine purpose for our lives. We without hesitation or question obey. As we care for the physical and emotional needs of those around us. We take note of their family concerns also. When the time is right.

We ask, with love and gentle care. Can we be of any assistance. Then with the help of God the Holy Spirit. And if she agrees a prayer or two to God Almighty. We place this lady before us. In the hands of God, the Father. Then we leave the rest to God. We continue to care for her. We never cease praying.

Once more we have allowed ourselves to be the true instruments of Jesus’ peace. We do not know what miracle Jesus may perform. We have prayed for her and her family. We have placed her and her family before God. Believing all our prayers are both heard and answered. Now we leave this precious lady and her family. In the loving hands of Jesus.

As we have loved this precious lady and her family. This is how we love all people we meet. With the love of Jesus. As we speak and care for every person we meet. We at all times imitate the actions and reflect the love of our Lord Jesus. We may not see the results of our love. We may never know of the miracles Jesus performed. God Almighty sees the deep desire we have to serve Him. To at all times bring the love of Jesus to all the people we meet. We are the instruments of Jesus’ peace.

Scripture Reading: In Christ, we are offered peace with God because we who “once were far off” (Ephesians 2:13) have been reconciled to God through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus’ sacrifice addresses the root of the problem that the world ignores. By His sacrifice, He bridged the gap that sin inserted between us and God. (Bing,04/07.2024)

We may never know that through our love and care. If this precious lady or any member of her family. Was touched by the love of Almighty God. We may never know if any person in this beloved family. Ever answered Jesus’ offer for eternal salvation. We may never know. God knows we did our part. We are the instruments of Jesus’ peace. We did our part.

Today’s audio music video for your inspiration. For you to enjoy.

This is a contemporary rendering of St Francis of Assisi’s prayer, “Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace”. I noticed they took out the “Your” part in this new title and new arrangement. The “Your” refers to the divine “Your”. There is peace; and then there is the “Peace that surpasses all understanding” offered by God. Which peace are you after? I love the way they re-stated the parts of St Francis’ prayer in contemporary language. The meaning suddenly became “new” and “alive” for me — making it more meaningful than ever. My favorite phrase from the song, is this: “With these Words I speak, grant that I may seek — not to be seen…but to see!” (YouTube, 04/07/2024)

I pray there was something in my article where God blessed you.

If so, please highlight this piece.

Send me a comment on how God blessed you through my words.

God keep you safe under His wings always, Diane.
