Live to Attract Good Things into Your Life!
Whatever good things we build end up building us. Jim Rohn
No matter how tough my life was, I was always looking up at the sky and wishing for good things. Mahira Khan
Immortality is to live your life doing good things, and leaving your mark behind. Brandon Lee
Each of us wants a life attracting good things, both simple and profound. Living a life following our heart and settling for nothing less than the good things in life. Good things won’t happen if we sit and wait. Our hearts tell us what is dear and good. Good things bring joy and warm feelings to our hearts. We are determined and prepared to do whatever it takes to attract the good things.
Living life to attract good things needs at times hard work and determination. But it is always worth it! Allow yourself a moment here, if you will. To identify what the good things in your life are. They are indeed different for each of us.
Your heart knows what you hold most dear. What are the truly good things in your life? Just mentally listing these precious items makes your heart sing with joy and love.
Allow me a moment to ponder what I hold precious, please. Well, firstly, a family member who loves me no matter what! Well, this is something worth working hard to keep, yes? To be loved no matter how many times I slip up. Wouldn't that be something?
Family to me is the most important thing I have. I do not even want to contemplate life without them. We are scattered all over N.S.W. Family time together is far too rare. And I have at times said or done something to spoil our times together. Time doesn’t always heal.
So, yes for me, the good (no great) thing which I work hard for would be a family which easily forgives each other. A family which treasures its time together.
You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them. Desmond Tutu
Now we all have many times in our lives when we have inadvertently said or done the wrong thing. When a family member or close friend has been deeply hurt by our words of anger or bitterness. Probably, you are so deeply sorry. So deeply regret both the words spoken and the hurt caused.
You love the person with all your heart and so desperately want to heal the rift caused between you. You are a person who never gives up on people you love oh! so dearly. The term”‘giving up” is not part of your nature. You do your very best to keep in touch with this loved one. Re-affirming to him you will never stop loving him.
Eventually, your gentle and kind words combined with persistence are rewarded. He forgives you once more. And another reward, a great big bear hug! What a tremendously good thing has entered your life. Once more hard work and determination are rewarded by an amazing life! Your family is again united as one who deeply loves each other.
Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. Mark Twain
Now to identify another good (no great) thing which I value. When I am a little sad. Someone to take the time and effort to cheer me up and cheer me on. A special friend who recognizes just what I need.
With tenderness, he brings joy back into my life. This special friend encourages me to keep going when life gets too hard. Just a few kind and tender words on a sad day to cheer me on. I didn’t have to work too hard for this one. I just was there for him in the past when needed. And, yes another good (no great) thing attracted me to my amazing life.
The greatest, grandest, hugest, best-ever thing in my life. Getting a hug from my husband. We have been married for what seems forever. Sadly, he is now in a nursing home, many, many miles away. And I can only visit him every so often. So, yes a hug from hubby is the grandest thing ever for me! I feel him quiver with sheer excitement at seeing me after so long. My heart is filled once more with love for him and gratitude for being able to spend some time with him.
I had to indeed work hard for this hug. Save my hard-earned pennies. Travel a long way in my ‘little black’ car. But, as the Lord is my witness, Colin is so worth it. Yes, another great thing that attracted me to my amazing life.
I will not play tug o’ war. I’d rather play hug o’ war. Where everyone hugs instead of tugs, Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug, Where everyone kisses, and everyone grins, and everyone cuddles, and everyone wins. Shel Silverstein
They invented hugs to let people know you love them without saying anything. Bil Keane
Have you a list of good and grand things which make your life amazing? Perhaps, just pause a while and search your heart?
It may be as simple as the blessing of:
Waking up every morning;
The warmth of a smile of a stranger on the street;
The wag of your dog’s tail greeting you after a busy day.
You, and you alone, know what the good and grand things in your life are.
Life is not always pleasant. This is simply how it is! Yet, to live your life attracting the good things you realize thinking more positively is the way to go. Are you naturally a positive person? Can you instinctively turn unpleasant times around? Do you remember wonders where you have indeed turned these times into good yet again? I have! I believe you too have! We both live life attracting the grand things!
Though I do not believe that a plant will spring up where no seed has been, I have great faith in a seed… Convince me that you have a seed there, and I am prepared to expect wonders. Henry David Thoreau
I have always been a fairly self-reliant person. Only calling on others for help is a matter of last resort. A for instance may clarify things a little here. I am a person who tends to think too deeply on matters. To make life far too seriously at times. And to be far too self-critical. Not good if I want to live life attracting the grand things. This saddens me at times a little.
Yet, I also know what the grand things I want in my life are and what I need to do to attract them. So I focus on these things and stop stressing about my negative thoughts. For instance, I love a hug. The family lives too far away. So I pop next door and hug his great big black dog. Another grand thing attracted. I didn’t have to work too hard for this one. Just pop next door. Achieving the good in my life without asking for help, yet again.
You too have simple and grand things, oh! so many, in your life. Perhaps! A comfortable home and garden, vacations with family, and work which is both satisfying and fulfilling. The list of good things is pleasing to you. You indeed have an amazing life! Good things bring joy and warm feelings to your heart.
Surround yourself with good people. Whether they’re the best or not, people are capable of learning if they’ve got good hearts and they’re good souls. Kid Rock
An inexhaustible good nature is one of the most precious gifts of heaven, spreading itself like oil over the troubled sea of thought, and keeping the mind smooth and equable in the roughest weather. Washington Irving
The goodness of a person spreads cheer all around. When a friend presents me with flowers picked fresh from his garden. The first thing I do is breathe deeply in their scent. Charles is one of those rare individuals who truly spreads cheer wherever he is.
I am a very busy person, always in a hurry. I oh! so welcome his visits. They force me to pause for a while. We chat about sweet nothings. And life in general. Charles forces me gently to change my day from busy/busy to finding a vase for his flowers. Then we stroll back to his place, smelling many more flowers along the way.
This gesture of friendship not only changed my day but also added happiness for both of us. Good things can indeed be shared. This small bunch of flowers lasted only a few days. But the memory and our friendship linger for oh! so much longer.
Have you ever witnessed how when passing a stranger a smile can make your day amazing? Are you the sort of person who says Hi! to strangers passing on the street? I am! Of course, many, many people will completely ignore you. And, to you, this is okay also. This is their choice. You fully believe in saying Hi! This is simply who you are! Silly, yes? Not to me, I do this also! You are indeed sharing your love generously. A tender act of kindness. Please don’t stop. ‘What the world needs now is Love!’
You probably have had some wonderful conversations with these simple gestures. You may have learned some amazing things you would not have otherwise. Heard some very funny tales. Shared some sad ones too, I bet? Yes, you have had some very, very good things attracted to your life. This wasn’t hard work at all, was it? At times it was quite fun, yes?
If you so choose, even the unexpected setbacks can bring new and positive possibilities. If you so choose, you can find value and fulfillment in every circumstance. Ralph Marston
Well for most of us life is oh! so much more than merely surviving. Life is living! Living life to the fullest! Though of course hard times do make it feel like you are merely surviving from time to time.
Life for me is so much more than merely surviving. For example, a day spent with a brush in hand before my easel creating another original oil painting. Yes, a day doing what I deeply care about. Those days are for me the pure essence of the good things in life. Or, spending a few days in Port Macquarie with my youngest son, Mark. He fills my heart with so much love. Those days, were so precious and oh! so few. They are the epitome of what are the good things in my life!
Life for you is predominantly pleasant and passes quickly. As indeed it does for me. You most probably agree — “the good life comes from what we care about.”
Well, you and I, have decided to live a life dedicated to attracting the things which we hold most dear. The good things in life we have decided are worth all the hard work and much determination. We have identified what these good things are and how to attract them. Now full steam ahead!
Life is amazing — the good things keep piling up! Our hearts are filled to the brim with joy, love and gratitude.
