Goodness of God.

I love You, Lord
For Your mercy never fails me
All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands.

From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God.

(Jenn Johnson, 2019)

Reflection. Each day is a gift from its Creator. We abide every day in the mercy of our Father God. We are held always in the loving hands of the Almighty One. We sing all our days. Of the goodness and the gentleness of God.

Scripture Readings: But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us. (Ephesians 2:4, ISV)

For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” (Romans 9:15, ISV)

All trusting and every faithful believer in the Almighty One. Faithfully acknowledges and truly appreciates His mercy and His grace. Each day we awake with a prayer of thanksgiving on our lips. Remembering it is the Almighty One who has blessed us with this wondrous gift. Each day is truly a wonder. Every day is an adventure. Each day is an opportunity to serve God. We gladly and freely care for the needs of those around us.

Appreciating the wonder. Indeed, we stand quietly in amazement. We stand in awe at the beauty of each new day. The day brings with it such a sense of awe. At times God’s birds are our alarm clock. Their merry songs. Calling us to arise. Begin our brand-new day. God’s birds merrily singing to each other. Are they praising their Creator??? We join with them in praise to our Creator, our God.

Some days God paints His perfect sunrise in gentle pastels. Such colors. Such gentle colors. God’s perfect and gentle artistry on display before our very eyes. God’s sunrise shining His power, His majesty, and His love for us. If only for a moment or two. We sing to God our praise. We sing to its creator. Our thanksgiving for this. Our brand-new day. And the wonder and awe of God’s perfect artistry. For our pleasure. God saying to us. “Good morning, my beloved child. It is time to arise.”

We live this day and indeed every day of our lives for God Almighty.

The scripture that expresses the idea that each day is a gift from God is Psalm 118:24, which says “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”1. This verse reminds us to be grateful and joyful for the new grace and opportunities that God gives us every day1. Other scriptures that inspire us to appreciate each day as a gift from God are James 1:17, which says that every good and perfect gift is from above2, and Psalm 90:12, which teaches us to number our days and gain a heart of wisdom234. (Bing, 09/06/2024)

We recall that God the Creator. Made all that ever was made. This includes this very day. This includes you and me. Yes! We will rejoice and be glad in it.” We recognize the many blessings God Almighty bestows upon us each day. Blessings such as good health and the energy to love and care for others. Blessings such as the gift and the talents we use to glorify His Holy Name. Blessings too many to count. Once more we kneel before Almighty God in thanksgiving.

The Almighty One is great and powerful. From the moment of our birth. Till our Father God calls us Home. We sing of the goodness of Almighty God.

Scripture Readings: The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth. (Exodus 34:6, ESV)

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34, ESV)

Do we remember? That before we were born. God our Creator loved us. Yes! Our Creator, designed, planned, created each of His people out of His creative love. Each person is unique. Each person loved individually. As if we are the only person on Earth. We are loved so deeply and intimately by God our Father. All our needs are provided for. We are never left alone. We are protected from all harm. When happy. God the Father, He shares our joy. When we are sad, He dries our tears. When in pain, He heals our suffering. We are loved so, by our Creator, our Lord, our God.

Do we remember? That every day of our lives. God our Father holds our hands and walks beside us. That each moment of every day we walk in the loving and Holy presence of God. When we kneel before the Holy throne of God in prayer. We step into the righteous presence of the Almighty One. The more we pray. The nearer to us God Almighty draws.

Scripture Reading: Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (James 4:8, NIV)

Have we ever considered what was the very first prayer? Why people first began to call upon God? To answer these profound and perplexing questions. We once more turn to the Holy Word of God.

Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden, which God Himself has provided for this very purpose. And they are charged to turn the whole of creation into a place where God can be known and enjoyed (see Genesis 1:28 and 2:15–16). (Gary Millar, Desiring God Blog)

Prayer is a sacred and a divine creation of God. Prayer is the key to stepping into the presence of Almighty God. God Almighty loves all His people so very much. He is eager for us to be close to Him each day. God the Creator through His unceasing love. Our Heavenly made a way for us to be with Him. Almighty God created a means for us to walk daily in His loving presence. Our Creator God created prayer. Prayer is this means of being with Him.
