Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of the night. (George Herbert)

Don’t forget to pray today, because God didn’t forget to wake you up this morning. (Anonymous)

Introduction. Almighty God places no boundaries on our heartfelt prayers.

Scripture Readings: Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Colossians 4:2, NIV)

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16b, NIV)

Do you count yourself as a person of prayer? Or a person who prays? We, through God’s Holy Word see Jesus as a Person of prayer. Our Lord Jesus rose early each morning to start His day with a prayer to His Father. On His journeys He found places of quiet and of solitude. Jesus to Almighty God prayed for the guidance and the strength needed to obey His Father always. And obey His Father Christ surely did. All the way to His cruel and most wicked cross.

Scripture Reading: Jesus Prays in a Solitary Place

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. (Mark 1:35, NIV)

When healing the sick and tending to the needs of all those around Him. Jesus prayed. In raising the dead, in the name of Almighty God, He prayed. On the eve of His crucifixion. In His prayer of desperation. He called out through bitter tears, to the One who could save Him.

Scripture Reading: Going a little farther, He fell with His face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from Me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” (Matthew 26:39, NIV)

Jesus our Lord. Our Savior. Our God is and always will be a Person of prayer. You and I as His followers. We as Christ’s beloved disciples follow His perfect example. No, we are not merely a person who prays to God as and when needed.

We count ourselves blessed and so very loved by God Almighty. We are now. And for all eternity our Heavenly Father’s beloved child of prayer.

Scripture Reading: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18, NIV)

Heartfelt prayer is our unfailing connection with Almighty God.

We are so loved and so wonderfully blessed to have a Heavenly Father. Who listens to and answers all our prayers.

Scripture Reading: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6, NIV)

As true and faithful disciples of Jesus. As His genuine followers we aim to do as His does. Jesus prays always for guidance from His Father. You and I totally depend on our Lord. Christ totally depends upon His Father. Our Lord Jesus does not make a decision without first consulting Almighty God in prayer.

Saint Luke in Acts, “and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the Word.” (6:4, NIV) Teaching to all disciples of Jesus the vital importance of consistent prayer. Saint Luke and his fellow disciples depended upon prayer.

What a grave mistake if we’re casual about our prayer life. (Pastor Adrian Rogers)

The true gift that prayer is. Praying to our Heavenly Father is inviting God into our day. Asking Almighty God through prayer to share our life and our unceasing love for Him.

Have you ever considered what a blessing of love from your Father prayer is? Each prayer to God grows and develops a deeper companionship with Him. As you appreciate and you acknowledge each answered prayer. Your trust and faith in your Heavenly Father deepen and strengthens daily.

Each prayer shows to us what an honor it is to work with God Almighty in and for His glory.

Speak directly from our heart to the heart of our Heavenly Father. Leave our burdens at the foot of the cross of Jesus.

Scripture Readings: Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28, ESV)

Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7, ESV)

One of the greatest mysteries in the Holy Word of God. God the Creator of all has invited us in prayer. God Almighty bends low from Heaven to Earth. To hear — to listen. God in His mercy. Almighty God through His unceasing love bends near to us and hears our prayer.

The wonder of all prayer is the intimacy. All God’s beloved children address our prayers to our Father. Not to some high and mighty, far away and unreachable god. But to our personal and intimate Heavenly Father. What a personal devotion to us He has bestowed. “Abba.” “Father.” We pray to you. This personal privilege shows to us His intimate love.

Scripture Reading: Pray then like this:

Our Father in Heaven,
hallowed be Your Name. (Matthew 6:9, ESV)

As we bow our heads in prayer to our Father. We thank Him for His mercy, His love and for His many, many blessings.

Unfortunately, life for none of us is a bed of roses. We all have our cross to bear. Days of trouble and sadness are the times where we lay our load at the foot of the cross of Christ. We kneel at His cross and pray. Looking up into the eyes of the One who died for us. You and I remember how very loved we are.

Scripture Reading: Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6–7, ESV)

Conclusion. Heartfelt Prayer to Almighty God Has No Boundaries.

  • We are so loved by God Almighty.
  • He has bestowed to each of His beloved children the gift of prayer.
  • This gift has been wrapped in intimacy as we address Him as “Abba.” “Father.”
  • Almighty God bends low from Heaven to Earth to hear and answer all prayers.
