God’s Kingdom Has Come!

Come and discover all life can be,
For the Kingdom of our God has come!
See now the Father’s love in control,
For the Kingdom of our God has come!

Life in Him is beauty,
Not a dreary duty.
O what a richness faith can bring!
Christ is our brother, savior, and king –
Yes, the kingdom of our God has come!

(Brian Doerksen, 1977)

Introduction. The word Gospel literally means “good news”. Such good news Jesus and His disciples preach. The good news of God’s Heavenly Kingdom — SALVATION and eternal life with God.

Scripture Readings: Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. (Matthew 4:3, NIV)

Jesus Announces the Good News

After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. (Mark 1:14, NIV)

As you and I read all four Gospels. It is made evidently clear to us. The Gospel preached by our Lord Jesus. Is the Heavenly Kingdom of God. Almighty God’s gift of love to all humanity — SALVATION and eternal life with our Heavenly Father and His beloved Son, Jesus.

Central to Jesus’ message and the core to all Christ’s lessons. Is that for anyone to enter God’s Heavenly Kingdom. We must firstly seek, with all our heart God’s Kingdom. The second condition which gains entrance to our Heavenly Kingdom. Is that we must at all times be submissive to our Heavenly Father. At all times we must obey His Holy Law. In all our actions and in all our words.

Why did God choose the word Gospel? The Gospel is an integral part of God’s over plan for humanity’s future.

When Jesus Christ came preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, He built on the foundation already planned by God the Father from the beginning and revealed by the earlier prophets. As the Messenger of the Kingdom, He revealed vital truths that were not understood from the Old Testament prophecies. (C. Thomas, United Church of God Blog)

The Good News Jesus heralds is life-changing for all humanity. The Gospel Jesus preaches is vital to everyone.

Scripture Reading: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23, NIV)

For Jesus is Lord. Jesus Christ is God the Son. Therefore, He is our Sovereign King ruling supreme overall nations and all people. Saint Paul in Romans verse one writes. The Gospel, the good news of the Heavenly Kingdom of God. Was created by God for all humanity. The power of God through Jesus His beloved Son gives to one and to all humanity — SALVATION.

Meaning of “God’s Power to Salvation.” This power of Jesus our Lord is the essence behind all Christendom.

Scripture Reading: For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: First to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the Gospel the righteousness of God is revealed — a righteousness that is by faith from first to last just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:16–17, NIV)

God’s power to salvation is offered to all humanity. Let us preach along with Saint Paul, “I glory in the Gospel, I’m proud of the Gospel.” If any friends, family or neighbors ever ask. We hold our head high and speak. We are proud to be a follower, a disciple of Jesus our Lord, our Savior, our God, our King. You and I are so, very proud to preach the good news of the Heavenly Kingdom of God.

We proudly speak along with Saint Paul. You and I are “eager to preach the Gospel for everyone who believes.”

Because the Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, we must believe it and proclaim it boldly. So, what is the main message behind Jesus’ good news? Why? Oh? Why? Does all humanity need this Gospel, this good news? The power of God’s salvation delivers us to God’s righteousness. Through Jesus we are once more reconciled with our Heavenly Father. This to all humanity is the precious gift of salvation.

You and I remember the moment which changed our life forever. The moment God touched our heart and our soul. We to our Father prayed. We accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. How life indeed changed for us. No, nothing on the outside dramatically changed for you or for me. But forever more we were changed. No longer did we live for ourselves. You and I lived for God in His service.

Let me describe how it was for me. A feeling of no longer being alone. A deep sense of belonging. This feeling to me has never left. I honestly say it grows stronger each and every day. I was only a young teenager when the Lord Jesus I accepted. Now a 72 year little old lady am I.

Every day Jesus is to us our very best friend. Yes, we are so very proud to preach His Gospel. In all our actions. Through all our words. We show to all those we meet. The good news of the Heavenly Kingdom of God.

Scripture Reading: For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8–9, ESV)

Almighty God’s power of salvation has only one source. God’s salvation is only to be found through His beloved Son, Jesus.

Scripture Readings: And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12, ESV)

For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16, ESV)

Salvation by grace through faith is not a difficult thing, in that it’s not a formula to follow but rather a miracle to believe and receive. Salvation is God’s righteousness at work in us when we say yes to His plan. Saying yes is how we demonstrate faith. We get saved by grace through faith, but we also live by grace through faith. (Danielle Berneck, Christianity.com Blog)

Almighty God’s miracle. Our Heavenly Father’s gift of love. God’s salvation is so much more than, being washed clean from sin. Far more than, being reconciled with the Almighty One. As truly remarkable and undeserved as this reconciliation is. Salvation is a lifestyle. God’s salvation is an amazing blessing for which we praise God for always.

Salvation is a life of dedication to Jesus our Lord, our Savior, our God, our King. Salvation a life of devotion to our Heavenly Father who is the One who gave to us His only begotten Son. God sent to us His beloved Son as the Lamb of God. You and I live a life of complete and humble obedience to Almighty God and His Holy Law.
