God’s Love Story. Written by the Finger of God to Our Heart
God’s Holy Word. His Word of love. Written by God. Spoken to our heart.
Just A Closer Walk with Thee.
I am weak, but Thou art strong,
Jesus, keep me from all wrong.
I’ll be satisfied as long,
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee. (Author Unknown)
Introduction. The Holy Word of God holds such love. Holds such mystery. Holds such power. God’s Holy Word changes lives. The Scriptures saves souls.
As we find our quiet corner. With quite worn Bible in hand. You and I reflect how the Holy Word of God indeed changes our life. Each day we ask for guidance from God, the Holy Spirit. Each time His guidance we receive.
The verses, the words our heart is seeking for its nourishment. For our comfort and for our soul’s peace is always found. Yes! Oh! Yes, each and every time. In ways both big and small. Our life, God’s Holy Word it changes.
Scripture Reading: But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. (Psalm 86:15, NIV)
What is so wonderfully life-changing about the Word of God. The Creator of the entire universe is speaking straight from His heart to ours. This is how God our Father changes our life. We are so very blessed. You and are so loved by the Almighty One. Through and by His unceasing love for us. By the Finger of God. He wrote, in words of love. God speaks to you and to me.
The Holy Word of God changes our life. Changes us.
How else, do the words of love? The Word of God change our life? The profound. The soul changing. The saving grace of His beloved Son, Christ Jesus. We are the ones who hurt Him so. Yet, God wrote His Word of love for and to us. We are the ones who spit in His face. God forgives us and loves us still.
The words of love from God our Father change us each day, every moment. God’s creations bring to us such wondrous and awesome emotions. As we recall. As you and I remember that all of creation was made by God in six days. All was made through and by God’s love. God spoke His Word. By His very breath everything came to be.
Countless times through our life. God’s Word has saved you and I from ourselves. At times we feel we are singing along with King David. As he penned his words of love and praise for his God, his Savior.
Scripture Reading: A Psalm of Praise. Of David.
Psalm 145
I will exalt You, my God the King,
I will praise Your name for ever and ever. (Psalm 145:1, NIV)
For me, I struggle with the unnecessary burden of guilt and shame. I may the LORD be praised. Forgive others readily, easily and completely. But sadly, at times myself I do not so readily forgive. Then with trembling hand. With open heart. With a silent prayer to God the Holy Spirit for guidance. Once more my Bible I open for the freedom I seek. God speaks to me His words of love. Jesus my Lord, my Savior, my God. Brings to my heart, my life, my soul His peace.
Scripture Readings: And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7, ESV)
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4, ESV)
As God’s mighty servant, Billy Graham faithfully put it,
Read your Bible daily. Do not be content to skim through a chapter merely to satisfy your conscience. Hide the Word of God in your heart. It comforts, guides, corrects, and encourages; all we need is there.
Reading and meditating on God’s Holy Word each day is a habit truly God-given — God-blessed. Have you witnessed how God’s Word has changed the life of a loved one? Well, if so, again praise the Almighty One.
The Gospels have many, many words where Jesus changes people’s lives. Jesus performs His miracles. And when He does. Our LORD healed not only bodies. Christ also saved their souls. Jesus taught of the coming of the Kingdom of God. The good news is such words of love, hope, peace and eternal life. This Gospel story is one of such soul-saving wonder. That all who read and take heed are changed forever.
God’s Holy Word speaks of Christ’s saving grace. If the reader so chooses. She can there and then. Bend to her knees. Bow her head in a heartfelt and honest prayer of repentance and confession. Accept Christ Jesus as Her personal and eternal Savior.
From that moment forth. Till eternity her life has been changed. Once more God’s Word of love has spoken. Again, the Holy Word of God has brought a lost soul Home. Again, the Bible has saved a soul once lost in the darkness of sin.
Scripture Readings: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8–9, ESV)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9, KJV)
God’s Word of love brings to you and to me peace, hope and comfort.
When we combine our precious Bible reading time with prayer and the singing to God His praises. You and I are so very blessed with such heart-warming comfort.
We at times find our day interrupted with a deep sense of despair. These are the times. We reach out and take our Bible in hand.
For these are the times that our loving Heavenly Father is patiently waiting for us to do so.
Scripture Readings: The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18, ESV)
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3, ESV)
Then we find a hidden gem within these words of love. So often in life. You and I feel powerless against all that life throws at us. Once more to the Word of love we seek our answer. We picture our Lord Jesus. After forty day and nights of fasting in His wilderness.
We never have been as weak and hungry as was our Lord then. How did our Lord, our God find the strength to carry on? Christ Jesus used Scripture to find His strength, His power. To once more love His Father.
When you and I feel weak and no longer able to carry on. We follow the example of our Lord Jesus. We read our Bible. God’s Word of love. He gives to us the strength. The power to persevere.
Scripture Readings: I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13, ESV)
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13, ESV)
May God be praised. His Holy Word. God’s Word of Love. Gives to you and to me. All that is needed. To live a life of love, of service and of obedience.
