Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Matthew 6:25

… your Heavenly Father knows that you need them all. Matthew 6:32b

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34

“God Moves in The Waves of Life” is a story where God certainly knows what is needed and provides it.

Today I return to the precious lessons taught to us by Jesus. In His Sermon on the Mount.

Jesus is teaching us how to free ourselves from the burden of worry and anxiety. Such a heavy load we carry. God wishes to free us of this burden. Jesus emphasizes that we have a loving Father that not only knows what we need. He provides according to His riches in Heaven.

God loves you personally and intimately. He knows you so well. He is aware of what you need each day. God not only knows what you need. He desires to meet these daily needs.

Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11(from the Our Father Prayer)

Jesus taught His disciples in the “Our Father Prayer” to pray to God for their daily needs. This prayer is for you and me. And for all those who place their faith and belief in Him.

God is such a loving Father that He delights in “calling Himself El Shaddai, the All-Sufficient One” Patrick Oben.

God, the Creator when He designed and made humanity did so in a mysterious way. In a combination of spiritual and physical forms. Therefore, we have both spiritual and physical needs. This is what is meant when He made us in His image. The spiritual side of us. Well, that is how I understand it?

Your Heavenly Father loves you so much that He supplies all that you need. Both spiritually and physically. Physical needs are not frowned upon by God. They just need to be put in their place.

God’s supply for all your needs is never-ending.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

There is absolutely no limit to God’s riches. His resources. His provision for your needs. This is why you can rest in peace. No matter what you are worried about. God has the supply in Heaven to fill its need.

Or, to see it from another way. It is through Jesus and because of Jesus that we have full access to such a loving Father. God is the supplier, the provider of all that is needed in your life.

The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due season. Psalm 15:15

Another comfort that we can have from our loving Heavenly Father. Is that He is all-knowing.

  • I have two adult sons who I love so dearly. I believe that I know them well. But do I? I don’t know what they are doing and where they are today. I pray they are safe. But are they? I don’t really know them.
  • I believe they have both accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. I pray this is so. But have they? I don’t know what is in their hearts.
  • I believe they have saved and planned for their future. But is it enough? I don’t know their future.

This frightening awareness means that I cannot be for them everything they need at all times. This is a very strong reason to turn their needs to God in prayer. It is a reason for me to step back. A true lesson to me to stop worrying and place my faith in God their Heavenly Father.

God knows everything that my two wonderful sons need now. And what they will need in the future.

God your loving Father knows you so well. He knows you intimately, inside and out. He sees your every need. Your every fear. Your every joy.

Look at the birds of the air. Matthew 6:26

Jesus is also teaching us to seek first the kingdom of God.

Therefore, behold the kingdom of God is in the midst of you. Luke 17:21

The time has come, He said. ‘The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!’ Mark 1:15

The Lord will be King over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and His name the only Name. Zechariah 14:9

All words that are spoken by Jesus, our wise teacher should be heard. Used to grow in fellowship with Him. Jesus’ words are spoken to guide your way to God’s kingdom.

Jesus calls you to replace your times of worry and anxiety. To replace them with thoughts of God and His kingdom. Turn to His Word for priceless pearls of Wisdom. Turn to God’s Word for thoughts of Divine Love. Jesus’ words of wisdom to you are “seek first the kingdom of God.”

Compare seeking God’s kingdom to searching for something you treasure more than anything else in your life. You never stop looking till you find it. You keep searching. Ever thinking where it might be. Ever striving. Every nook and cranny is pried into. No corner is left unturned.

This and more is the time and effort we are to place in seeking and searching for God’s kingdom.

God, your Heavenly Father is waiting. Ever available to us. He is not hiding His face from us. It is us that need to seek Him. To look for Him in our everyday lives.

God loves you so much that He has provided the means for you to seek and find Him.

The kingdom of God has come near to you. Luke 10:9

Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34

Jesus is teaching us to make God’s Kingship a top priority in our life. Jesus is not trying to white-wash our worries and anxieties. He knows full well that our day-to-day concerns are very, very real for us. He is demonstrating to us that every day is filled with its own troubles and stress.

We need to be careful that we do not allow our thoughts of them to take over our minds.

Always putting your Heavenly Father and His kingdom as number one! You rely on Him to rule your life. He rules your life with love. He knows what is best for you. He knows what you need. He will turn to His rich provision in Heaven. Provide all that is needed to satisfy your everyday needs.

After all, He is your loving Heavenly Father and needs your obedience as does your earthly father.

Points to Ponder from these Bible verses:

  • Jesus is teaching us how to free ourselves from the burden of worry and anxiety.
  • Our loving Heavenly Father is all-knowing.
  • Jesus is also teaching us to seek first the kingdom of God.
  • God, your Heavenly Father is waiting. Ever available to us.
  • Each day has its own worries, rely on God.

God loves you and He always will!
