There are Angles Among Us.

Oh! I believe there are, angels among us,
Sent down to us, from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me, in our darkest hours,
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give,
To guide us with the light of love.

When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees,
There’s always been someone, to come along, and comfort me.
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand,
A phone call from a friend, just to say, I understand.
But ain’t it kind of funny, at the dark end of the road,
That someone lights the way, with just a single ray of hope.

Introduction. God’s Holy Word tells all faithful believers. We are watched over by His angels. When hard times come. His angels give us the courage to carry one.

Scripture Readings: For He will order His angels,
to protect you wherever you go. (Psalm 91:11, NLT)

And there appeared to him an angel from Heaven, strengthening him. (Luke 22:43, ESV)

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them. (Psalm 34:7, ESV)

I have a favorite hymn. “Mary Did You Know?” Replayed over and over through my Smart TV. At the beginning of this familiar hymn. Mary, the mother of Jesus. Is visited by a heavenly messenger. Telling of the most amazing gift to the world from Almighty God. Mary is to conceive and give birth to a son. She is to give Him the name Jesus.

Scripture Reading: She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21, NIV)

Our God, the Father loves us so! Almighty God loves each of His children. God gives to you and to me His heavenly angels. His angels surround us. We are never truly alone. Each of God’s faithful believers. Have our own band of heavenly angels surrounding us and caring for us.

Almighty God has commanded His heavenly angels. To watch over you and me. Our Heavenly Father has charged His angels to protect us. From all the evil that is world throws at us each day.

God’s heavenly messengers are spiritual beings. Therefore, to you and to me they are invisible. Their protection and their care for us are very, very real. Each angel is commanded by our Heavenly Father to care for us. Every angel is never to lose sight of us.

Working in God’s service. Toiling each day for the glory of God. We do so. Believing we have nothing to fear. Because Almighty God has placed a multitude of His angels to ensure our safety.

Scripture Reading: See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. (Exodus 3:20, ESV)

We are not to place our faith/belief in angels. Rather in Almighty God who created them. It is God who is in charge and has command of all His angelic beings.

Scripture Reading: Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14, NIV)

Why does Almighty God provide us angels? Because He loves His children so much.

Humans, it seems. People have always had a fascination with angels and angelic beings. Many famous artists, authors, sculptors and poets have tried to capture their essence. Tried to capture spirit on canvas or in ink.

It is surprising that according to God’s Word. Angels are not the cute little chubby babies with wings we picture them to be. A verse in Ezekiel 11:28, gives us a succinct description. This verse describes angels as four-winged heavenly beings. What is apparent. Even though angels are invisible. Their presence is at times felt and their voices are heard.

Scripture Reading: Shepherds were in the fields near Bethlehem. They were taking turns watching their flock during the night. An angel from the Lord suddenly appeared to them. The glory of the Lord filled the area with light, and they were terrified. The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid! I have good news for you, a message that will fill everyone with joy.” (Luke 2:8–10, NIV)

When God so chooses. Our Father makes His angels visible and audible. So, that a message is delivered. Something that is fascinating about angels. They are truly interested in our spiritual welfare.

Scripture Reading: In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. (Luke 15:10, NIV)

Can you imagine this? When a person falls on her knees and accepts Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. Heaven is filled with singing and with joy. Like the father welcoming home. His prodigal son. Our Heavenly Father is welcoming Home, His lost child. God’s heavenly beings sing in joy “over one sinner who repents.” There is joy in Heaven. Angels are not only commanded to care for us. God’s heavenly beings actually are interested in human affairs. Angels are fascinated in what is happening in the lives of human beings.

Almighty God’s angels give us hope. Our Father sends us angels to bring a message of hope and a sign of His love.

All God’s angels are commanded to serve us. God’s angels are at our service. To assist us in carrying out God’s will and His holy purpose. As we work tirelessly. His angels are there to provide us the strength and the courage to carry on.

When we plead to Almighty God. God uses His angels to answer our prayer. Being God’s heavenly servants. Angels, minister to our needs. By obeying God’s commands on our behalf. There are many examples of angels being used by God in the Bible in answer to prayer. (Acts 12)

We see angels ministering to our Lord Jesus as He was tempted by Satan in the desert. After fasting for 40 days and for 40 nights. We see angels caring for Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane on the eve of His crucifixion. (Matthew 4:11, Luke 22:43

Scripture Readings: Then the devil left Him, and angels came and attended Him. (Matthew 4:11, NIV)

An angel from Heaven appeared to Him and strengthened Him. (Luke 22:43, NIV)

Angels are Almighty God’s servants sent by Him to care, comfort and protect us.
