God our Amazing Shepherd is Our All, With Him, We Shall Not Want
Blessings shower down upon us, like manna from heaven.
The Lord is our Shepherd. We proclaim, along with King David, “I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1, ESV)
Writing this article, I am reminded of how very much our heavenly Father loves and cares for each of us.“I shall not want.” These four words are His reminder, His promise. We shall not want. With God as our loving Father, we have all that we shall ever need. What a blessing this is. We have a God who loves us so dearly, that we shall never be in need. Please, join me as I humbly bow my knees in a prayer of thanksgiving.
I let Him down so terribly. And yet, God loves me still. This I never forget. This Psalm is and always will be my favorite and sings me through my darkest hours. I at times close my eyes, and picture Jesus. With His rod and staff. His hand lovingly outstretched to me. He loves me so.
King David, as he penned this beautiful and uplifting prayer. Used the Hebrew word “chaser.” Strongly meaning: “to lack anything.”
As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Abide in My love. (John 15:9; ESV)
And, just what is it that is our deepest need? God Himself is all that we need.
