It is Well with My Soul!

When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll.
Whatever my lot, You have taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul.

You are the Rock on which I stand
By Your grace, it is well.
My hope is sure in Christ my Saviour
It is well with my soul.

(Horatio Spafford, 1873)

Reflection. May Almighty God’s soothing and calming peace. Linger as a timeless melody in our souls.

Scripture Reading: You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on You,
because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3, ESV)

Almighty God’s love wraps us. Like a comforting blanket. God covers us in His calming peace. Keeping us aware of His loving and ever attentive presence. Almighty God’s peace soothes our troubled souls. Through the stormiest of our days. Our Father’s comforting peace. Stills the wind of our anxieties. God’s reassuring balm of peace. Calms the waves of our confusion and our deepest despair.

God’s peace is a remarkable tranquil state of spirit. A state of being. In which we live our lives in God’s presence.

God’s peace is an amazing place to be. A true gift and a loving blessing. Peace soothes and refreshes our troubled souls. A gift from the God. Who created us to be with Him — ALWAYS.

There is one thing all people. In all nations. Hunger and thirst for — PEACE! Unrest, conflict, abuse and war are everywhere we turn. Peace — soothing, calming and ever lasting peace. God’s peace is searched for by everyone. God’s gift of peace seems to be unattainable. However in the Holy Word of God,

In the deepest recesses of our hearts. We believe. God is love. We also believe. By walking daily in His Holy presence. Growing in our knowledge through His Holy Word. Our souls are soothed by the many verses. Teaching us to lay our burdens upon God. Our soul’s troubles are replaced by God’s ever lasting peace.

What makes God’s peace such a miracle? God’s peace is truly a miracle. God intervenes in our lives. Our Heavenly Father is showing us how very much He loves us. When our world feels like it is falling apart all around us. When everything seems desperate and beyond repair. God gives us His peace. Once more, all is well with our souls.

We always have a reason not to be anxious. You and I have a Person to turn to. When all others turn away. We have a Person who is always near by. God Almighty is the One who will calm all our worries. Our Heavenly Father will still all our troubles. God gives us the peace that is so desperately needed. God soothes and calms our hearts and our souls. “It is well with our souls,” once more.

Almighty God’s peace dwells at all times in our hearts. God’s peace lingers as a timeless melody in our souls. God’s Spirit dwells within. The fruit of His Spirit is peace.

Scripture Readings: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. (2 Peter 1:2, NIV)

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thessalonians 3:16)

Saint Peter in Thessalonians teaches us God not only gives us His soothing peace. Peter shows us “the Lord of peace Himself.” In other words, we live our lives in God’s presence — ALWAYS.

How is this achieved? In Galatians 5. Saint Paul mentions peace is a fruit of God’s Spirit.

In Galatians 5, Paul mentions that one of the fruits of the Spirit is peace. Since God’s Spirit lives in you, then His peace should dwell in you as well. His peace is designed to linger with you and be a refuge when you are dealing with the issues of life. (Clarence L. Haynes Jr., Crosswalk Blog)

God the Holy Spirit dwells in our spirit at all times. Still there are times and days. When peace seems elusive. We have mornings where instead of thanking God in prayer. Our first thoughts are how to settle our bills? We don’t have complete control over our lives. Often we worry unnecessarily. At times our lives are filled with fear.

How do we tap into the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit?

Saint Paul through his Gospel — Galatians. Tells us of the wondrous fruit of the Spirit — PEACE. Peace is such an essential element in our souls and in our daily lives. Every day circumstances rob our souls of God’s peace.

No matter how hard we try to fix things ourselves. Human interventions and our own attempts at peace. Ultimately fail.

The amazing characteristics of God’s peace. Almighty God’s peace is ever lasting. Our Father’s peace is enduring. Carries us through all our troubles.

But its Godly peace is not just the absence of things causing fear, worry, or pain. It’s the kind of peace that is deep within your soul and spirit that no matter what is happening outwardly, you are at peace. (Melissa Tumino, Think About Such Things Blog)

Scripture Reading: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22–23, NKJV)

Conclusion. God’s peace conquers all. God’s ever lasting peace. Soothes our troubled souls.

  • No matter the trauma we may be facing.
  • No matter how high our pile of unpaid bills are.
  • No matter how many times our family and friend turn their backs on us.
  • Our Almighty God loves us still.
  • God’s peace is ever lasting and enduring.
  • The fruit of God’s Spirit — PEACE.
  • Replaces our anxieties with peace.
