God is Faithful. His Love Conquers All Temptation
With trust, faith and love in the Almighty One. All temptation is conquered.
Immortal, Invisible, God only Wise.
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
in light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might,
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.(Walter C. Smith, 1867)
Introduction. The Almighty One and His unlimited love for us conquers. Temptation comes to one and to all. God gives to all the strength needed to rise above it.
Scripture Reading: So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13, ESV)
You and I ask. Where do we gain the strength to conquer? The strength needed to be victorious over the temptation which creeps into our lives. We each have the love of family and close friends. Yet still we stumble, and we fall. We continue to hurt the One who loves us so. Still, we find we are unable to face temptation and walk away. You and I lack what it takes to be victorious.
Again, our Father in Heaven we hurt. Once more we are weak, powerless and defeated. Again, we sin against the One who loves us to the point of death. Yes, our LORD loves us to the point of death on His wicked and cruel cross. A fallen and a sinful person we once again are before our LORD. We, with all the love in our heart for our God, our LORD, our Father. Are not able to conquer alone. To be victorious over temptation. Without the love and the tender support of another. WHY??? Oh! WHY???
Scripture Readings: Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. (Ephesians 6:11, NIV)
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7, NIV)
When we submit our life in complete obedience to the Holy Law of the Almighty One. Satan Himself will flee from our life.
You and I are so very blessed. God loves us so. All you and I need to do. Is to place our trust and our faith in Almighty God. God is Love! We carry in our heart. The all-powerful and never-ending love of our Heavenly Father. Such love triumphs over Satan and His lies. God’s all-encompassing love. Gives to you and to me the strength to tear down the barrier. The fence which separates us from our loving Father.
As one of God’s beloved children. You and I each day experience the true fullness of God’s love.
Scripture Readings: To know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:19–21, NIV)
Modern times are so very demanding both on our time and on our emotions. Life it seems is always lived in the fast lane. The ever-draining pace of our day. Often leaves us battered and bruised. How, oh! how do we find the energy, the strength to battle the “evil One.” How do we gain the courage? We need to live the life of love and obedience to God our Heavenly Father.
Then God’s strengthening promises we re-read. Over and over again. But wait. This is only the first step. For reading is never, never enough. It is like placing milk before your kitten. Then taking it away, before allowing her to drink of it.
Learning from God our Heavenly Father how to be victorious over temptation. Is like any other lesson of obedience. One step at a time. Step one, we reach for the Holy Word of God. You and I fill our heart and our soul with His words of strength and courage. These words our heart and our life so desperately need.
Then step two. We persevere. We progress, with the assistance and the strength of God, the Holy Spirit. God Almighty truly fills and abides in our heart and in our soul. Then each and every day. We truly walk in the powerful presence of the Almighty One. From this moment forth. We gain and keep the strength and the courage to battle and defeat Satan.
Scripture Reading: So that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs. (2 Corinthians 2:11, ESV)
For you and I have now our foundation deeply rooted in God. Our very life itself is grounded in love. For God is love. The strongest. The firmest foundation any life can be built around and upon.
May God be praised. We live forever in the loving and Holy presence of the Almighty One. You and I have God’s might and power at our disposal. We are triumphant. You and I are victorious over temptation. With the indwelling of God, the Holy Spirit. We are victorious. With God as our helper. We defeat Satan, who flees from us. AMEN!
Growing each day in the knowledge, wisdom and love of the Almighty One.
As you and I grow each day in our knowledge, wisdom and love of and about God. Our personal and intimate relationship with Him also deepens and blossoms. As our companionship with our Father becomes more meaningful in our life. So, too does our fear, our concern over the temptations that creep into our life. For we realize that temptation is just another lesson of love from a Father who loves us so.
Through these lessons in love, we recognize that God never leaves us to battle Satan alone. God is always nearby.
The true and wonderful miracle. The power of working alongside God always. Is the incredible relief and peace God brings to our life. God Himself wants us to find such fullness in Him. That we realize we never more have to battle temptation without Him
May God be praised. These are the loving steps our Almighty God has given to you and to me.
These revolutionary and incredible gifts and blessings. God gives us the strength and courage to be victorious over temptation. AMEN!
