God is Faithful and Merciful
When our hearts are empty. God fills us with His love.
God cannot change. He cannot be anything other than who He is. Out of His love and His promises, you were selected as His treasure. God’s faithfulness has been the bedrock of His dealings with humanity throughout time. (Graham Cooke)
Reflection. Do you realise? You are so loved by Almighty God. You are His greatest treasure.
Scripture Reading: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22–23, ESV)
Do you realise that the Creator of all there is? That Almighty God loves you like no other. To Almighty God. To the Sovereign/Supreme ruler of everything. To God, you are His artwork. The most important creation in His Masterpiece. To the Creator God, you are the treasure in His crown. You are loved. Deeply, personally and intimately loved by the ruler of the entire universe.
This is the focus of my article today. We will for just a few minutes. Look into the immense love of Almighty God. We will see how much the Sovereign/Supreme ruler of everything loves us. We will see how through God’s promises. He demonstrates how very important we are to Him.
I believe God’s love is truly infinite. Almighty God’s love is so tremendous. That each of us can be loved like we are the only person that was created.
Scripture Reading: The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued My faithfulness to you. (Jeremiah 31:3, ESV)
When we acknowledge this love from Almighty God. When we feel how very much we are loved by the ruler of everything. We can respond only one way. With true love and sincere thankfulness. We open our hearts to the ruler of the universe. We let God into our hearts. More than this though. We owe Almighty God far more than this. We owe to God our lives and our service. We promise to use our lives to shine God’s light of love into the hearts of others. To show them. That they also are the treasure in God’s heart. To show each person. That Almighty God loves and forgives them.
How do we repay Almighty God for His love?
Scripture Reading: Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:9–10) ACTION POINT: Question: What can you bring Jesus today to repay Him for what He has done for you? Answer: Nothing. Nothing you or I could ever do would suffice. (1 John 4:10–12, KJV) (www.lwf.org/daily-devotions)
In truth, there is nothing we can do to repay God for His love. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s love. We do not deserve God’s love. We are commanded to love God and to love our fellow man. This we gladly do.
Mercy fuels compassion, providing promising glints of light in a darkened world. It’s kindness, forward forgiveness, and empathy. Mercy chooses not to be offended, and compassionately sees a hurting heart behind hurtful words. God’s mercy is reflected in the cross of Christ, a direct reflection of His love for us. Mercy is an extension of and expression of love, “an act of kindness, compassion, or favor.” Mercy is a characteristic of the One True God. (Meg Bucher, January 12, 2023)
We remember that no matter who we are. Almighty God’s mercy never fails us.
Scripture Reading: But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us. (Ephesians 2:4, ESV)
Do we appreciate what a true blessing Almighty God’s mercy towards us is? Almighty God proved how much He loved us. By sending His beloved Son Jesus to pay the price for our sins. Almighty God sent His Son to Earth to suffer, bleed and die on His wicked cross. Jesus answered the wrath of His Father on His cross that fateful day.
Almighty God shows each believer His mercy at the time of salvation. Throughout our lives, God continues with His acts of mercy through the forgiveness of sins. Mercy triumphs over judgment. The Biblical definition of mercy is God’s pity, compassion, and kindness toward all His people. As faithful believers, we show these same attributes in all our dealings with others.
We all know that we are not perfect. No matter how hard we try. We never will be. Almighty God reads our hearts. He knows we love Him. With all our hearts and souls. We love our Heavenly Father. Our Father showers us with His mercy. When we accept His beloved Son Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Almighty God grants us His precious gift — mercy. At the time of our salvation. Then God continues to bless us with His mercy for the rest of our lives.
Scripture Reading: Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16, ESV)
How do we repay Almighty God for this wondrous gift? How do we repay God for His gift of mercy? We show mercy to those who have hurt us. Just as God has shown mercy to us. We forgive those who have hurt us in any way. As Almighty God has forgiven us. We forgive others readily, easily and completely. Even if they do not realise they have hurt us. We love the person who has hurt us. We love them. As the Father loves us.
This truly shows the mercy of Almighty God in the hearts of those who have hurt us. This once more is shining the light of God’s love into the hearts of God’s people. For all people are the treasures of God. All people are created in the image. The very likeness of God Himself.
Conclusion. God is Faithful and True. When our hearts are empty. God fills us with His love.
Each time we kneel before Almighty God in prayer. We thank God for the mercy He has granted us. The mercy, the gift, the blessing of salvation. We thank Almighty God. We thank the ruler of everything for believing we are His most precious treasure. For loving us as He does. We praise His most Holy name. For allowing us on His Holy Ground we forever worship Him.
“Who You Are To Me” Reminds us that Almighty God is our everything.
The Meaning Behind The Song: “Who You Are To Me” by Chris Tomlin.
The track beautifully captures the essence of the relationship between humanity and God.
The opening lyrics of the song convey the misconception that some people have about God — that He is distant, merely words on a page or fables passed down through generations. However, Chris Tomlin sings about his personal experience of witnessing God’s miraculous power, how He parted the waters when no one else could rescue him from deep despair.
Lady A joins Chris Tomlin in the second verse, challenging the notion that God can only be found in grand cathedrals made of stone. Instead, she recognizes that God resides within her heart, making it His home. She finds God not only in the beauty of nature like a sunset but also in the eyes of a stranger she encounters on the street. Through these encounters, Lady A discovers who God truly is to her.
