ALMIGHTY GOD GRANTS US MANY BLESSINGS. THROUGH THIS ARTICLE. LET US THANK HIM.

A thankful heart is one of the primary identifying characteristics of a believer. It stands in stark contrast to pride, selfishness, and worry. And it helps fortify the believer’s trust in the Lord and reliance of His provision, even in the toughest times. No matter how choppy the seas become, a believer’s heart is buoyed by constant praise and gratefulness to the Lord. (John MacArthur)

Reflection. Almighty God’s goodness and faithfulness combined with His boundless love. Provides for all our needs. Let us give God our thanks.

You and I are children of our Heavenly Father. We are loved by God far more than we will ever know. Almighty God loves us much more than we will ever deserve. There is nothing. We can do nothing, to earn the love and hope of Almighty God.

The blessings God pours into our lives each day are countless. God’s gifts are to be used in His service. God’s talents enable us to serve Him wisely and with love. They are wonderful and undeserved. Each gift and talent is used to care for and tend to the needs of others. Each talent is used for the glorification of Almighty God.

Caring for and tending to the needs of our neighbours. We do, with an attitude of wonder and awe.

We do, with true gratitude. We have more than we need. We share our bounty. We share, gladly with those who have little or nothing at all.

Scripture Readings: Whoever despises his neighbour is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor. (Proverbs 14:21, ESV)

Rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man. (Ephesians 6:7, ESV)

Reading the Gospels we learn of the love of our Lord. We witness generosity in Jesus. We see Him care for the crowd on the hillside. Jesus blesses the two fish and the five loaves of bread. Then Jesus commands His disciples to distribute the meal to the crowd. We see our Lord caring for their hunger. Jesus cares about the immediate needs of the individual. Jesus blesses and loves each person in the crowd. So should we. We are true disciples of Jesus our Lord. We care for the immediate needs of each individual we meet.

Jesus is crowded in by so many people seeking His healing touch. He hears a call from among the crowd. Jesus hears the desperate plea from a man who was born blind. Jesus now focuses His attention and love on this sad and hurting man. Our Lord, Jesus the Great Physician makes His way to the man He loves. Jesus loves and heals this man who God created. Jesus’ heart goes out to this man. Jesus’ heart is moved with compassion and tenderness. Jesus’ heart is moved.

If we were there with Jesus. True love is in the eyes of Jesus. Words of kindness, tenderness and compassion are spoken. The touch of Jesus’ hand. On this man born blind. Jesus not only restored his sight. The touch of Jesus. Filled the heart of this man. Jesus filled the heart with the boundless love of God.

In all we say. In all we do. We thank Almighty God.

Thankfulness to God is a recognition that God in His goodness and faithfulness has provided for us and cared for us, both physically and spiritually. It is a recognition that we are totally dependent upon Him; that all that we are and have comes from God. (Jerry Bridges)

Being a child of God. We admit our total dependence on our Heavenly Father. Hard as we try. We cannot cope by ourselves. We do not know how wicked we are. Till we try by ourselves to be good. We do not know how weak we are. Till we try to move the mountain of our troubles by ourselves. We do not know how helpless we are. Till a loved one lays sick in her hospital bed. And we cannot heal her. We do not know how hopeless our life is. Till we try to live it without Almighty God. For without Him, there is no future. Without Almighty God and His love. We are so alone and lost in the darkness.

It is God and God alone we rely upon. It is God we call upon in times of trouble and heartache. Our Heavenly Father alone loves us enough to be the One. God is the One to turn to. God is the One who loves us. No questions. No hesitation. No limits. God’s love for us is infinite. We are loved. Deeply and personally loved. For this. We owe God our thanks. For this. We give God our lives. For this. We give Almighty God our hearts and souls.

Gratitude is an offering precious in the sight of God, and it is one that the poorest of us can make and be not poorer but richer for having made it. (A.W. Tozer)
