The Prayer.

Heavenly Father, I am grateful
For You hearing my prayer.
I am learning to be patient
And that You are really there.

There are answers I’m receiving
No, they’re not always immediate.
You show me You hear my prayer.
I’m amazed by how You care
’Cause You hear my little prayer.

(David Archuleta, 2020)

Reflection. Prayer is an offering. From the One who loves us more than life itself. Prayer is both a gift and a blessing from Almighty God.

Scripture Reading: This, then, is how you should pray:

Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Name,
Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. (Matthew 6:9–13, ESV)

The word prayer appears 164 times in the Holy Word of God. This is how very important prayer is to Almighty God.

Scripture Reading: Before they call, I will answer; while they are yet speaking, I will hear. (Isaiah 65:24, ESV)

Prayer. The wondrous. This amazing gift from Almighty God. Prayer is more than a means of speaking about our love for our Father. Prayer is our key to entering into the Holy and the loving presence with the Almighty One. The Creator of all there is and all there ever shall be. Our loving God gave to all faithful believers a wondrous gift — PRAYER. The wonder of this gift. God answers all prayers. Big and little. All prayers are heard and answered. Yes! God Almighty loves each of His children this much.

Scripture Reading: The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. (John 4:23, ESV.)

The message behind Saint John’s verse is both profound and filled with the love of our Father. Our Heavenly Father is desiring through prayer. That you and I build a true and lasting fellowship with Him.

The Christian life is a journey, and we need God’s strength and guidance along the way. He supplies direction through reading His Word and communicating with Him through prayer. God doesn’t leave us to our own resources! Prayer is part of the “everything we need” that God has given Christians. A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. A prayerless Christian is also a contradiction, because we should yearn for fellowship with the One who redeemed us. (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Blog)

Prayer for all believers is unique. It is different for each child of God. One thing each prayer has in common. We are speaking with the One who is always listening. This we all have in common. Almighty God is always listening. It matters not to God how we pray. What matters to our Father is that we pray. That we pray sincerely, honestly, consistently and with love in our hearts for Him.

Prayer is opening our hearts to the One who has given His all in all for us. When we are not sure what to say. God the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf. When we pray. We believe there is nothing too large or anything too small for God not to hear. All prayers are heard. All prayers are answered. All prayers are addressed with love and kindness.

As we pray. We feel the presence of Almighty God within us. This is the wonder. This is the amazement of prayer. Prayer is our entry into the presence of Almighty God. As we kneel before the throne of Almighty God. As we bow our heads in silent reverence before our Heavenly Father. In our hearts a gentle stirring. In our hearts a gentle feeling of God’s presence. In our hearts we feel the love of our Heavenly Father. We are blessed once more. We are in the company of God Himself. We are loved once more and forever by Almighty God.

Our little prayer has brought God once more into our lives. We realize again just how much our Father loves and tenderly cares for us. As we bow our heads low in prayer. We feel God reach down from Heaven and take our hands. We feel the righteous hand of God Almighty take our hand. We feel the love of God. Yes! We feel the love of God Almighty. He is this close. God Almighty is this close.

We feel the love of God Almighty in our hearts. We sing to God our praises all our days. We praise the Holy Name of God and worship His Holy Name. For His gift of prayer has lifted us up higher than angels. For His blessing of prayer has lifted us where eagles fly. For prayer has taken us into His Holy and loving presence. Where we remain for eternity and beyond.

God’s love takes many forms throughout Scripture. 1 John 4:8 even refers to God Himself as love. Love could be explained as wanting the best for someone, and that’s exactly what God intends for us. God loves you simply because He loves you. You don’t have to work for His affection. You don’t have to set yourself straight before God can pour out His love over you. (Bible Study Tools Blog)

Scripture Reading: So, we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in Him. (1 John 4:16, ESV)

God is Love. Have we ever truly stopped and genuinely thought what these three words mean in our lives? God is Love. For us. We have a God who completely loves each of His children. No matter how much we turn our backs on Him. God still loves us. No matter how much we hurt Him. God forgives and forgives and forgives yet again. When we forget to thank Him for all our blessings and gifts. God still blesses us with more and more and more. When we forget to thank Him for all answered prayers. God still listens and answers all our prayers. When we …… God still loves us and always shall.

  • Through prayer we accept the sacred and divine plans of Almighty God.

3. Communicate with God, tell Him our needs, and thank Him for His blessings.

  • Through prayer we tell God our needs.
  • Through prayer we thank Him for always hearing and answering.

4. Unlock heaven’s blessings and intercede for others.

  • Through prayer we can intercede and plead for those we care about.

5. Follow Jesus’ example by praying for holiness, provision, resistance to temptation, and glory to God.

We do our best to imitate this love. We do our very best to love God our Father with all our being. When we stumble and fall. We beg Him once more to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. We thank God with all the love our hearts contain for loving us. We thank Him!
