Each Day is Bright. Filled with the Powerful Love of God
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms. We find love and peace.
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.
What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.(Elisha A. Hoffman, Anthony J. Showalter, 1887)
Introduction. Being a pilgrim for the Almighty One. We realize our time on Earth is merely a stepping stone. On our journey Home to Paradise.
Pilgrimage with the One who created us to love Him. We love God Almighty with a love so immense. Our love for our creator is like no other. Our pilgrimage to our God is our every thing. The love we receive from Almighty God. The many, many blessings He pours into our open hearts. These are the nourishment that fuels our hearts and our souls.
The Holy Word of God is the light that illuminates our way. As we travel through the world. On this Earth as Almighty God’s, Heaven bound pilgrims.
Scripture Reading: For it is You who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness. (Psalm 18:28, ESV)
We are placed here on Earth. By Almighty God to love and to serve Him. Yet, you and I are constantly aware. In this life. On this world we are merely temporary residents. Waiting to go Home to our Father, God. Our journey on this Earth is merely a stepping stone. A passage way. To our eternal and our final destination. The Heavenly Kingdom of God. Paradise. Our eternal Home. With our Heavenly Father for eternity.
Scripture Reading: My son, be attentive to My words; incline your ear to My sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. (Proverbs 4:20–21, ESV)
Almighty God blesses us and provides us with all that is needed. As we await to get Home to Him in Paradise. You and I live and love our lives as nomads in a foreign land. For this is truly who in Christ we are.
From the moment we accepted Jesus as our personal Lord, our own Savior.
Scripture Readings: Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9, ESV)
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23, ESV)
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:13, ESV)
We begin our pilgrimage to our eternal Home with Almighty God. Recognizing we no longer belong to this world. You and I are now. And are forever members of God’s divine family. Each day we live and we walk in God’s loving presence here on Earth. Yet! Each day, we also look ahead. To stepping into the welcoming arms of our Father, God.
Our Heavenly Father loves each of His children. With a love so deep and so personal. Our Father, God stands at the gates of Paradise. Welcoming each child. As we step into His outstretched arms. You and I are each, individually welcomed. By the One who created us for this very moment. Into God’s Heavenly Sanctuary we enter. To live with and to praise Almighty God, for eternity.
Scripture Reading: Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. (Revelation 22:14, ESV)
Such a wondrous and a loving pilgrimage. Almighty God has given each of His beloved children. In Jesus.
Scripture Reading: For we are strangers before you and sojourners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the Earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding. (1 Chronicles 29:15, ESV)
We, you and I are pilgrims. Nomads traveling on this Earth in the Holy name of our Lord, Jesus. Almighty God’s obedient and faithful servants. Caring for the needs of all His people as best we can. Following in the footsteps of all those who went before us.
Scripture Reading: Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
hold not Your peace at my tears!
For I am a sojourner with You,
a guest, like all my fathers. (Psalm 39:12, ESV)
Our pilgrimage on this world is such a wondrous adventure at times. At other times. A life of sadness and days of heartache. But, at all times. Our spiritual focus is constantly on our destination. On our final resting place. Where God, our Heavenly Father is waiting. With His arms outstretched for us. Yes! We at all times. Have our hearts and our lives focussed on God. And on our Heavenly Sanctuary. Where we will live and we will rest. In the waiting arms of the One who loves us. More than we shall ever know.
You and I live this brief life as pilgrims. As nomads. As strangers. In a foreign and an unwelcoming land. At all times and in all places. We practice Holiness. You and I live in this world. Yet! We live separate from this world at all times.
Scripture Reading: Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world — the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:15–17, ESV)
Conclusion. We are set apart. We are nomads. We are pilgrims. In a foreign land. With the Heavenly Kingdom of God. As our final and our eternal destination.
We love our Creator God. With all the love our hearts hold. We walk in this world. As did our Lord Jesus. In complete and humble obedience to the Father, God. Yet, as pilgrims in a truly foreign land.
We live in this world. But, not of this world.
We serve God Almighty. By caring for the needs of all His people as best we can. As we pilgrimage on this Earth. As God’s nomads in a truly foreign land. Having as our final destination.
The Heavenly Kingdom of God. Where our loving Almighty God is waiting for us. God Almighty is waiting for you and for me. With His arms outstretched. HE IS WAITING!!!
In our final destination. In our final resting place. The Heavenly Kingdom of God. Paradise. Where you and I shall live for eternity with God the Father and Jesus the Son.
