The book of Job 35:9 reads, “By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.”

The destination of oppressors is imbued with woeful days that follow them. This is so because, the Lord God by His Holy Word, has already sentenced them when He said, “Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered (Proverbs 11:21).” Also,

“The way of the wicked is as darkness; they know not at what they stumble (Proverbs 4:19).”

It is a pity that the oppressors of all generations have successfully been able to incur the wrath of God upon themselves, through their actions of inhumanity and wickedness in which they oppress innocent people.

Imagine, the oppressors spending their quality time and energy all day long to procure evil powers, to torment and oppress their fellow human beings.

The derivation of their witchcraft activities which they play against their victims, is to hear/ see them bewail in sorrow of anguish: and they are happy, delighted to see them spill blood unto death.

Psalm 52:1–5 reads, “Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The goodness of God endureth continually.

Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

Thou lovest evil more than good, and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

God shall likewise destroy thee forever, He shall take thee away, pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.”

The oppressors of the land are inhuman, heartless, insensitive, barbaric with a hardness of heart: to the extent that even though their victims, captives (the oppressed) wallow in the ocean of tears which pours out painful fluid from their eyes through their afflictions, they (the oppressors) won’t care; but would rather feel good because their captives cry their hearts out.

What they fail to acknowledge is that, GOD HEARS THE CRY OF THE AFFLICTED IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING, AND RESPONDS TO THEM SPEEDILY; to salvage them and release appropriate judgment upon the oppressors of the land.

Psalm 18:6 & 14 reads, “In my distress, I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even into His ears.

Yea, He sent out His arrows, scattered them, shot out lightning flashes, and discomfited them.”

The question then is, if the oppressors unabatedly, constantly unleash their acts of violence against their victims/subjects. They are likewise victimized equally by the great and mighty God, who pays them back with the evil of terrific, catastrophic judgment of death — where the oppressors/wicked are wiped away to hell; what will be their gain for oppressing innocent people?

If there are no good and excellent rewards for the wicked works of oppression, then let the workers of iniquities avoid rancour, and put back their swords into the sheath: unless they should die therewith (Matthew 26:52). One thing is for the oppressed to cry out due to various degree of oppressions through the arm of the mighty, and another is for God to swiftly intervene and fight on their behalf. Praise God!

Certainly, it pays to live in peace and harmony with one another to procure the blessings of the Lord God, instead of His wrath which comes as a consequence of oppression.

Lord save me from all forms of oppression of the wicked. Amen!
