CREATING AUSTRALIA’S STORY — Original Oil Paintings
Port Macquarie — For Me — Paradise on Earth.
I have just finished this painting which I am quite proud of! It is of course for sale through my website: https://dianemmarkey.blog. The hours, days/weeks joyfully spent creating this Original Seascape answered my inner calling. I have run out of family photos — so I resorted to a picture I resourced on the internet. I naturally made it my own by using my imagination along with memories from the many years that I lived in the Hastings.
Of course, my favoured gentle pastel colours were used to create the sunrise as well as its reflection in the shallow waters. I can almost feel the gentle waters lapping at my feet, feel the gentle breeze rustling through my hair, hear the sea-gulls noisily above my head heralding in another day in paradise and see my dog “Little Lady” chasing her ball. Oh! what a wonderful way to start the day. I lived for many years in Port Macquarie and my days started this way on Oh so many occasions. Living here in Moree I so miss that.
As with all my Australian Seascape Paintings this one tells its own story. For me, this story is, a solitary tree standing in perpetual awe at the amazing beauty that surrounds it. The sunrise promises another magnificent day in paradise — Port Macquarie. Low tide brings in nutrients for the morning feeders. Early morning joggers enjoy the gentle breeze and the pastel colours of the sunrise.
This special moment in time is captured forever in this one-of-a-kind Seascape. The honour that I have been give to put brush to canvas capturing such moments in time and place are beyond words. A gift from God that truly is a blessing.
When you linger at the painting above, can you see yourself strolling along this magnificent beach? Taking off your shoes, feeling the sand between your toes? Then strolling to the water’s edge feeling the warm waters caressing your feet? Oh! what a joy it is just to be alive. Then, looking around, others are feeling this too!!! Paradise — Port Macquarie — in the spring at Sunrise. Can life get any better that this???
The solitary tree in the foreground seems to be speaking of the way that I feel at times. That is, standing in complete awe at the extreme beauty that is Australia’s Eastern coastline. Creating this Original Seascape Oil Painting brought back many memories of me paddling in such warm waters.
I have never been able to put into words how amazing the seaside is to me. So, my Australian Seascape Oil Painting collection is my way of creating Australia’s story in oils. My way of saying “THANK YOU.”
I am the first to admit that there are so many wonderful Australian artists who are far more experienced and talented than I. Yet, singing my own praises. I paint in my own way. Telling Australia’s story in Seascapes and the occasional Landscape in my unique fashion.
I, in searching the Internet and physical galleries, am re-assured that I am indeed a one-of-a-kind. I am passionate about my creations and believe that emotion is reflected in my artwork.
I also believe that as a novice in the artworld the need to compete against more experienced artists means identifying my niche market. This market is, Creating Australia’s story in Seascape Oil Paintings for those Art Collectors who love Australia as Much as I do.
Each day is different, Each painting is unique, Each buyer has his/her own choices/wishes. I thrive on the challenge which all this brings.
Please help me in my journey as an aspiring artist with suggestions. I am just a learner at both painting and ecommerce marketing my artwork. I need guidance.
My love and passion for Australia (this unique and amazing country) is what drives my motivation to paint and succeed in my little ecommerce business.
As a learner I do indeed welcome any and all suggestions. Especially on how I can improve Creating my Story of Australia in Oil paintings.
I still undergo online classes and reading. Yet, I thoroughly believe that wisdom from Readers has its own intrinsic value.
Plus, I would welcome the opportunity to share whatever wisdom I have gained so far in my journey in the artworld. I thoroughly believe that when we share wisdom — we gain as much as much as we give. So, let me be generous and share what I have learnt so far.
It would be such an honour to help an aspiring artist in my humble way. Of course, Google is always there to lend a helping hand, just a search and a mouse click a way.
I have just started another Australian Seascape Oil Painting. This one is something completely different for me. It is just a picture I found on the Internet of a large — a truly large — wave crashing behind a lighthouse. This is going to be a real challenge. Google is going to be a best friend again for me in this one as I search for how to create a “Crashing Wave”. Any Suggestions??? Changed my mind — too far from my passion.
So, I will start this one fresh. I love what I do, so I will stay true to myself and find another subject. A painting from Newcastle NSW perhaps??? I will search photos and my memory for the perfect reference image and create another story in oil on canvas.
I would love to hear from all those who so dearly love this amazing country. Both artists and art collectors, or anyone interested in following my simple blog. That would certainly give me a real boost.
Till next time:
