Walk in the Ways of Jesus — Follow in His footsteps of Peace!
In this season, when we pause and celebrate the birth of Jesus. We recall Luke 2:14, the Heavenly angels singing their anthem of peace to mankind. “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favour rests.”
In this time of remembrance and celebration. We give our praise and thanksgiving to our Lord, Jesus. For it is, through His incarnation that He guides our“feet into the path of peace.” (Luke 1:79)
To be true peacemakers we need to follow Jesus’ path to peace!
Jesus throughout eternity was and always will be fully dependent on God His Father. We see, through God’s Holy Word. How Jesus thrived on His solitary and loving time in prayer with His Father. It is noted that at times an entire night was spent loving and conversing with His Father. “He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.” (Matthew 14:23b) Is this why Jesus referred to God as His Father? Because He depended on Him.
We in our mortal weakness. We in our feeble sinful nature. Depend on God for our very life. For forgiveness of sin, absolution and reconciliation with Him.
Jesus throughout eternity is and always will be obedient to God Almighty. Jesus our Lord and Saviour. In humble and complete obedience to His Father died as our sacrificial replacement.
