Come As You Are!

Come out of sadness, from wherever you’ve been
Come brokenhearted, let rescue begin
Come find your mercy, oh sinner, come kneel.
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal.

So lay down your burdens, lay down your shame
All who are broken, lift up your face.
Oh! wanderer come home, you’re not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart.

(Kurt Cobain, 1991)

Reflection. Leave our burdens at the foot of the cross. We kneel before Jesus as sinners. We rise washed clean in the blood of the Lamb of God. Out of our darkness into the light of Jesus.

Scripture Reading: Leave Your Burdens at the Cross. “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Beginning each day with a prayer of thanksgiving on our lips. Focuses our hearts and our minds on Almighty God. Starting every day with a prayer we place God where He belongs. As number one in our hearts. Praying gives us God’s love and His wisdom to power our souls. We believe God Almighty hears and answers all prayers. All needs are provided for by our Father God. We walk confidently through our day with God nearby. Believing whatever our needs. All we need to do is to pray. Almighty God is there. Almighty God is patiently waiting. God Almighty hears all our prayers. The Almighty One answers all our prayers according to what is best for us.

Scripture Reading: The Bible tells us “And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus”. When we have faith in Jesus and live righteously, God will provide us a glorious life in His name. Trusting in God to provide our needs and protection demonstrates our faith and devotion to Him. (Philippians 4:19, NIV)

Praying brings us once more into the loving presence of our Father God. Prayer and the Holy Word of God are such amazing gifts. Given from the One who loves us so. Stepping out of bed. We believe we can conquer the world. With God ever present. All things are possible. With Jesus as our faithful companion. We are never alone. We walk daily in the loving presence of Almighty God. We are loved. We are deeply and intimately loved by God the Father — ALWAYS!

Life is not always easy. Bam!! Bad news. The worse news ever! Life has just been sucked right from our heart. Where do we go from here? Who do we turn to? To seek relief. Who can give us the peace we need? Who?

Scripture Readings: Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. (2 Thessalonians 3:16, KJV)

These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33, KJV)

We do the only thing we know which brings lasting peace. We do the only thing which eases our pain. We turn to the only One who can carry our burden. You and I seek relief in the love from the One who truly understands. We kneel before the throne of Almighty God. We bow down low before our Heavenly Father. We bow our heads in silent prayer. We ask for the help we need from our beloved Lord Jesus. We believe. With all our hearts. We truly believe Jesus is the person who can carry our burden for us. We lay our burden down at the foot of Jesus’s soul-saving cross.

Scripture Readings: Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. (Psalm 23:4, ESV)

Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you,
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. (Psalm 55:22, NAS)

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7, NIV)

There are days when we feel Jeus cannot understand. Just what it is like to suffer. We never suffer anything Jesus did not in His short life. We once more reach for the Holy Word of God. We pray for our Father God to allow His Spirit guide us to a full understanding. As we read of Jesus in His precious Gospels. We allow Jesus’ Spirit to speak quietly to our hearts. Explaining to us what Jesus needs us to know and fully understand.

We picture Jesus as He has pity on the crowd. They had been with Him for three days. Jesus was aware of their hunger. Are we aware? Jesus had not eaten for three full days either. Jesus did not think of His own needs. Jesus was only concerned of the needs of the people around Him. Our Lord always puts Himself last. Jesus always puts the needs of others above His own needs. As faithful disciples. We follow Jesus’ example. In all we do. We place the needs of others above our own needs — ALWAYS.

We feel the love and the compassion Jesus has for each person in this crowd. For Jesus each person in this crowd each person is important to Him. Jesus tells the people to sit comfortably. And arranges for each person to have enough to eat. Each person is satisfied. Each person in the crowd is loved by the Son of God. Each person’s needs are important to God the Son. Each person is loved by the Son of God, Jesus.

Going about our daily business. We do as Jesus does. We always place the needs of others before our own — ALWAYS. If we see a neighbor hungry. We go to our pantry. We fill a few grocery bags. And leave them at her front door. If we see a friend sad and alone. We knock on her door and keep her company for a little while. If we ……. The needs of others are our top priority — ALWAYS.

Scripture Readings: Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (Philippians 2:3,7, NIV)

Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:28, NIV)

In this verse, Jesus sets the ultimate example of putting others before Himself. He came not to be served, but to serve selflessly and sacrificially. His act of giving His life as a ransom for many demonstrates the depth of His love and the extent to which He prioritized the needs of humanity. (Scripture SAVVY Blog)

Jesus gave the ultimate act of love. Jesus Christ sacrificed His own life because He loved so deeply each person. Our Lord Jesus loved each person so deeply He gave His own life for us.

If needed. Would we do the same. If a person’s life was only saved at the cost of our own. Would we????
