Angels Calling.

The sun, the sun is going down.
All I see is love around me.
You know, what I believe.
Now I see it so completely.
I, I need you to know, that time, time is letting go.

Don’t cry, dry your eyes.
Can’t you hear the angels calling, me up? Up above?
Can’t you hear the angels calling me home? Me home?
(They’re) calling me home.

(Sabaton, 2015)

Reflection. You and I have mortal bodies that all wear out. We all have an expiry date. God Almighty loves each of His children with a love so deep and a passion so personal. At the end of life’s journey. We are not alone. God’s sends to us His angels. To escort each beloved child Home to Him.

Scripture Reading: The time came when the beggar died, and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. (Luke 16:22, NIV)

Today’s First Section is written by a dear friend, Davies Balkan.

Angels Escort Us to Our Heavenly Home at Journey’s End.

As we journey through life. We often wonder what lies at the end of the road. For some, it is a destination filled with hope and promise. While for others, it remains shrouded in mystery and uncertainty. Yet, regardless of what awaits us at journey’s end. We can take comfort in knowing that God will be there to waiting in the Heavenly Kingdom.

As time begins to fade, and our journey comes to a close. We may feel lost and alone. We may wonder what will become of us as our bodies grow weaker, our minds grow dimmer. As our time on earth draws to a close. In those moments of uncertainty and doubt. We can take solace in the knowledge that God loves us so. Almighty God has a plan for each and every one of us.

At the end of our journey. Almighty God sends His angels to escort us Home to Him. These heavenly beings are not only God’s messengers. God’s angels are also protectors, guardians, and guides sent to guide us towards our eternal Home. They are gentle, loving beings whose purpose is to ensure that we arrive safely and securely into the arms of our loving Heavenly Father.

The thought of being escorted by angels may seem like a distant dream. We can see the evidence of their existence all around us. Angels are mentioned in all the major religious texts. They are depicted in art, literature, and music as beautiful. Angels are ethereal beings whose love, compassion, and grace capture the essence of God’s love for us.

As we approach the end of our journey. Let us take comfort in the knowledge that God loves us and sent His angels to guide us, Home. Let us face the shadows of life with the knowledge that light awaits us on the other side. The journey into eternity is not a fearful one. It is one filled with hope, peace, and love.

And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of Heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:31 ESV)

Let us trust in God to send His angels to guide us, protect us, and lead us home to the everlasting light of His loving arms. And let us remember that, even as we take our final steps on this earth. We do so with the assurance that God is with us always. Our journey into eternity is one that we need not fear. One we can embrace with open hearts and minds.

For at journey’s end, God sends His angels to escort us, Home.

At the closing of life’s journey. When we have stayed the distance. When after a life of faithful and trusting obedience. We are on our way Home to our Heavenly Father. At the closing of our eyes for the final time. As we feel time slipping away. What we see all around is the love of Almighty God. All around us we feel the peace of our Redeemer Jesus. What we see is God’s angels carrying safely Home to the One waiting for us. We are rewarded for a life of humble service.

At our death bed we feel God with us. As we have never before felt Him. Through the heavenly beings He sent to be with us. Through the angels our Heavenly Father sent to us at this time of our surrender. We are loved by God for cherishing Him with all our hearts.

We feel such peace all around. We feel God’s love as we have never felt before. It fills our hearts so completely. All around us is the love of Almighty God. All around us is the peace of Jesus our Lord, our Redeemer, our God. All around us are the angels God sent to us to escort us Home. We are loved. Truly loved by God Almighty. This love is tangible and real. God’s love is within and surrounds us.

God’s angels may be invisible to us. They are no less real. God’s angels are His messengers. God’s angels are our companions in our times sadness.

Scripture Reading: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’ — the things God has prepared for those who love Him … While we can’t fully grasp all the wonders of Heaven that God has waiting for us, we know enough that we can begin to dream about and anticipate the glories of what it will be like. (1 Corinthians 2:9, ESV)

Have you been at the side of a loved one as she surrendered to her Heavenly Father? Did you see in her face? A picture of pure peace. In her eyes pure and sweet love. No fear was found in her. All around her you felt the love of God. All around her was the peace of Jesus.

She reached out her hand. You took her hand to hold for the very last time. You felt the love of God stream softly from her. You felt the strength of a true believer. She drew her very last breath. She is now with her Heavenly Father for eternity. She is now with Jesus her Redeemer. What a privilege this was. What an honor to share this moment of surrender. We shall never forget. The peace and the love that surrounded us.

“Angels Calling” by Sabaton is a song that depicts the horrors of war, specifically trench warfare, and the ultimate sacrifice of soldiers who fought for their countries. The lyrics describe the harsh reality of the battlefield with lines such as “hell on earth” and “losing friends to artillery shells.” The chorus repeats the idea of soldiers dreaming of heaven, symbolizing the desire for peace and an end to the suffering they experienced.
