MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND TOUCH YOUR HEART THROUGH MY WRITINGS.

Reflection. Showing Jesus’ love to others.

A Christian is: a mind through which Christ thinks, a heart through which Christ loves, a voice through which Christ speaks, and a hand through which Christ helps. (Saint Augustine)

Sadly, the world is filled with lonely people. With those in need of our help. Now more than ever before. Our Lord’s love is needed.

Our hearts break, such sadness and overwhelming loneliness. Such need for the tender touch of Jesus. At one time when you booked into a motel, a free copy of Gideon’s Bible was to be found on the bedside table. Unfortunately, even this is missing. The greatest love we give to all those around us. Is our kindness and our compassion. And most important of all is our precious time.

Jesus’ love for us has no bounds and no conditions.

We feel Christ’s love most of all in our times of sadness and suffering. These times for us are lessons to be used as opportunities. As Jesus walks us through our tests and our trials. Our Lord, our Savior loves us through our heartaches and our pain. We remember Jesus’ comfort and love. And take His blessings with us as we walk our life of faith.

When we comfort and tend to those around us. We remember the care and love of Jesus. For through God the Holy Spirit and the Holy Word of God. Jesus loved and cared for us. Words for those suffering around us are found. God provides all that is needed. When we serve Him by serving others. We are blessed and used by God our Heavenly Father. We have God’s love to give away. And give away God’s love we do. At every opportunity we can.

John Piper once said.

The benefits of His love are as great as everything God owns in the universe. Nothing will separate us from Him. And nothing good will be kept from us by Him.

Jesus prays for us. As we care for our loved ones and those around us, remember. Jesus our closest companion prays to His Father on our behalf. We find the strength, the appropriate words and the love we need. We put our hearts into caring for those who need our help the most. What is so miraculous? When doing God’s work. Jesus is there alongside us. Helping, teaching and guiding our hands and our minds.

Scripture Readings: And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (Hebrews 13:16, NIV)

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Luke 6:38, NIV)

Showing our love and our kindness to those who need our help the most. Separates Jesus’ disciples from the world.

I come alive when a neighbour knocks on my door. Timidly asking, “Can you …?” Sharing a cup of coffee and a friendly chat about her family oh! so far away. Bringing a gentle smile fills my heart with joy. God in Heaven is smiling also.

Showing the love of Jesus to those in need of our care and attention. Does not need to be complicated or to take a whole lot of our time. It often is as simple as saying a friendly and sincere, “hullo.”

We will never know. We may be the only one who smiles at that lonely person. Life for many, in this crowded and chaotic world is lonely. Let us make a lonely heart joyful.

Scripture Reading: A generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.(Proverbs 11:25, NIV)

Jesus loves everybody. Yes, that is right. Our Lord loves all God’s people. So, we follow the example Jesus gave us in the Gospels. As Christ walked throughout Galilee. Jesus loved all those He met. Jesus touched people with His tender hands and His compassionate heart.

To show and share God’s love, we must be willing to love in situations where love may be undeserved, unmerited and unrequited. (Kara J. Lovett)

When we consider the love which Jesus has for us. We must recognise how much Jesus paid for His love. Christ sacrificed His life to pay the price for our sins.

Forgiveness, pure, sure and loving forgiveness.

Forgiving others and ourselves is a true sign of our love for Jesus. Forgiving those who have broken our hearts is not easy.

Scripture Reading: Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13, NIV)

We try to live by the Bible’s command to forgive as God forgives us. But it is not easy.

For me, I can forgive others only with the help of God. Yet forgiving myself I find extremely difficult. Guilt is a heavy burden, which I carry often. I know, yes, I know. I confess my sins at the close of each day.

Repentance is sincere. My belief that my Father has cleansed me of all unrighteousness is genuine. Yet this burden of guilt still at times plagues me.

Scripture Readings: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9, NIV)

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. (Matthew 6:12, NIV)

Loving and caring for our loved ones includes forgiveness. Yes, family and close friends say and do things that hurt and break our hearts. Forgiving those who have hurt us and even broken our hearts. Lifts a heavy load from our hearts. Even if the other person is unaware, they have been forgiven.

Caring and forgiving those who have hurt us is a pure and sure sign that we love and trust Jesus. We also pray for this loved one, that they learn the art and need for forgiveness. In our prayers to God the Father, we ask Jesus to draw close to them and pray that they find their way Home to God.

Conclusion. Caring and loving those who need our help. Is showing to them the love of Jesus our Lord and our Savior.

Scripture Reading: The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him. (Psalm 28:7)

Today’s music video reminds us that Jesus is God the Son.
