Almighty God’s Amazing Grace. Such a Powerful Blessing
Almighty God’s transforming power of grace. Leads to forgiveness. Ever-lasting hope and salvation are found in Jesus Christ.
Newton, a former slave trader who converted to Christianity12345. Newton wrote the hymn as a testimony of his personal experience of God’s grace and forgiveness345. He was inspired by a near-fatal storm at sea that led him to pray for salvation125. The hymn’s lyrics express the redemption, transformation, and hope that can be found in Jesus Christ3 (Bing, 10/07/2024)
‘Amazing Grace’ is one of the most beloved Christian hymns in history. Its powerful lyrics and melody have resonated with countless generations, touching the hearts of those who hear it. This timeless hymn is more than just a song; it tells the remarkable story of John Newton, a man who experienced the transforming power of God’s grace firsthand. Reflection. As Christians we all have our own remarkable story to tell. We all bent low before the Heavenly throne of Almighty God. We all prayed for salvation. We all received the hope which is found in Jesus Christ alone.
Scripture Readings: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8, KJV)
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. (Titus 2:11, NIV)
For me. I was a somewhat rebellious and troubled teenager. My poor parents had times when they could not control me. Then one Sunday I was touched by the love of our Lord Jesus. My soul within me stirred. I answered the call of my Savior. I answered Christ’s offer to me for my salvation. I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord, my Savior and my God. My life was changed in that precious moment. My life was changed.
I was transformed from a person of darkness. I was changed to a child of the light of Jesus my Redeemer. My life was never the same. Praise Jesus. I now live for Almighty God. My life is now one of service to my Heavenly Father. My life is lived in gratitude for the love of Jesus my Rescuer. I am forever thankful for the sacrifice. The sacrifice which my beloved Lord Jesus has shown to me.
Jesus stands at the door of our hearts and knocks. Jesus Christ our Lord offers a way out of our darkness. Our Lord Jesus sacrificed His very life as the price for our sins. All we need to do is to answer His call. All we need to do is to repent openly and honestly for our sins. All we need to do is to kneel before the Heavenly throne of Almighty God in prayer. We honestly and humbly confess all our sins to Jesus.
We believe with all our hearts. We picture our Lord Jesus stepping victorious from His empty tomb. God Almighty raised Jesus Christ from death. Almighty God raised Jesus after three long and lonely days in the grave. Jesus stepped from His empty tomb — conqueror over death forever. We believe Jesus is alive. Our sins are removed. Our sins are washed clean. We live eternally in the Heavenly Kingdom with Jesus Christ our Lord.
Scripture Readings: God is the One who raised Christ from the dead, and He will give life through His Spirit that lives in you. (Romans 8:11, NCV)
Almighty God accepts us as His adopted child into the divine family. From the moment of our salvation till eternity. You and I are a beloved child of our Heavenly Father. We are loved. We are deeply, personally and intimately loved by the Almighty One. No other love comes close to this.
Scripture Readings: The Father’s love for us “In love He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will” (Ephesians 1:4–5). “Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)
Reading such verses as these brings Almighty God so very close. We are reminded of the prayer which Jesus taught His disciples. The Lord’s prayer. Where Jesus teaches all His followers. Almighty God is our personal Father. All true and faithful believers. Are indeed God’s adopted and beloved children. We are loved this deeply by our Heavenly Father. From the moment of our salvation till eternity we are to “be called children of God.”
The Lord’s Prayer is a model prayer that Jesus taught His disciples123. It is recorded in the Bible in Matthew 6:5–15 and Luke 11:2–4123. The prayer begins with an address to God as Father and a request for His name to be honored and His Kingdom to come123. It then asks for God’s provision, forgiveness, and protection123. The prayer is also known as the Our Father3. (Bing, 10/07/2024)
Do we realize what a gift and a blessing prayer is? What a privilege it is to have God as our Father. Those of us who are indeed parents ourselves. Recognize the unique bond and love which is involved in a child and parent relationship. For God our Heavenly Father the bond is perfect and eternal. Our Father’s love for each of His children knows no end. Our Father’s love for you and I place on us no conditions. All is asked of us. Is to love God with all we are. And to love one another completely and asking nothing in return.
No, this is not easy. We have God the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. God’s Spirit guides us, gives us the strength as and when needed. God’s Spirit teaches us all Jesus wants us to know. When we at times we feel we are loving God or one another not enough. We pray to God the Holy Spirit for the Spirit’s help and His spiritual guidance. We also turn to God’s Holy Word. Believing there is no aspect of our lives which is not covered in His Word. Our hears and our minds are truly open to the teachings of God’s Spirit.
We listen. We well and truly listen to the guidance given to us by God the Holy Spirit. When we receive the understanding. We then put these lessons into action. We love all people we meet. With the love of Jesus. We repay Jesus for His loving sacrifice. By loving truly loving all people we meet.
