Almighty God, the Great I AM
The Creator God. Almighty God is the great I AM.
Scripture Reading: “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8 ESV)
Reflection. Almighty God, the great I AM. Almighty God is the supreme ruler over all His creation.
Scripture Readings: For by Him, all things were created, in Heaven and on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:16–17, ESV)
In the Holy Word of God, we read of how God demonstrated His power and sovereignty over creation —
He flooded the whole earth but saved one family and the animals. (Gen 7:23–24)
He parted the sea. (Exodus 14:22)
He rained bread from Heaven (Exodus 16:4)
He made a donkey talk. (Numbers 22:28)
He shut the mouths of hungry lions. (Daniel 6:27)
He caused a fish to swallow a man and spit him out again. (Jonah 1:17)
He calmed the storm with His hand. (Matthew 8:27)
He multiplied a few fish and loaves to feed…
