For the Love of God. All we do and say. We show our love for Him — ALWAYS!

Scripture Reading: So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31, NIV)

Reflection. It is easy to get caught up in the busyness of our everyday lives. To stray away from God. To forget who we are working for.

Scripture Reading: Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slaves or free.
(Ephesians 6:7–8, NIV)

Likewise, when we serve the Lord, we should do it wholeheartedly and with passion, knowing that we are doing it for God, not for whoever asked us to do it.

As a servant of Christ, the way that you serve brings more glory to God than you often know. (Becky, So Very Blessed Blog)

We need to schedule a quiet time each day with Almighty God. Find a time and a place where our busyness is forgotten. At first, we find this to be a little difficult to achieve. Our minds keep wandering back to what needs to be done. We pray to Almighty God for His guidance. We feel the gentle guidance of God the Holy Spirit quieten our busyness. The reward for our perseverance. Quiet time with the Creator of the universe.

When Saint Paul wrote his letter to the early church in Corinth. In his letter to the Corinthians. Paul refers not only to religious ceremonies and rituals. Saint Paul shows us that it is our everyday lives. It is our daily routine. That truly reflects our love and honour for Almighty God. It is in the simple and mundane jobs that demonstrate our love and glory, for Almighty God.

As we labour happily for Almighty God. Singing quietly our favorite Gospel songs as we work. Thanking God for His many blessings. He has showered upon us along the way. The house we live in. However humble it may be. The food in our pantry. The prayer of grace at each meal. Said in true devotion and reverence. Our family. Whether close by or spread far away. Yes! As we work. Many prayers of gratitude are sent to Heaven.

Do All to the Glory of God.

Saint Paul advocates for our freedom of choice in food or anything else in our spiritual life. As long as we appreciate who all our food and other blessings come from. Always ensuring we are not a stumbling block on the spiritual path for others. Never. Never lose sight of the many ways we can glorify Almighty God.

For example, sacrificial love is a glorious way of honouring God. God Himself is the epitome of sacrificial love. Almighty God sent His Son, Jesus Christ from Heaven. Jesus was a living sacrifice. Jesus bled, suffered and died on His wicked and soul-saving cross.

As we work through our days. We demonstrate the sacrificial love of God. In the simple things we do. We give to our neighbour. Our last loaf of bread and last bottle of milk. With a smile and a silent prayer. Not asking for anything in return. If needed we offer her our lives.

As we pass her the loaf and the milk. And if she is open to it. We pray with and for her. In the silence of this prayer. The love of God is passed into her heart. In the quiet and solitude of this prayer. The light of Jesus is shone into her heart. She may feel the stirring of God, the Holy Spirit. As we sit with our neighbour. We thank God for this beautiful opportunity. We place the action of salvation where it belongs. With Jesus the Son of God. We praise the Holy Name of Jesus. We sing silent praises to the holy name of Jesus.

Our Lord Jesus Christ’s sacrificial love. We walk in the way of Christ’s sacrificial love.

Scripture Reading: Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Ephesians 5:2, NIV)

Jesus commanded us to live our lives as a living sacrifice. Our lives are to be holy and righteous. This then is a “fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

What does it mean to be a “fragrant offering?” True followers and disciples of Jesus. Men and women who freely use their time, skills and talents to preach the good news of the Kingdom of Heaven. Disciples of Jesus whose very lives speak of the urgency of repentance. Followers of Jesus whose gentle ways and compassionate words speak of the love of Jesus. Followers whose very lives are the love of Jesus. These men and women are the fragrance and the aroma of Almighty God. Their aroma drifts to Heaven. The scent of these followers of Jesus is pleasing to the Almighty One.

Every word we speak. Each action we take. Reflects our thankfulness to God for His forgiveness. We show how grateful we are for being made new by Jesus’ gift of salvation.

As we care for and tend to the needs of others. We do it with the kindness, tenderness and compassion of Jesus. We treat each person with respect and dignity. Each person is treated as they are. A true creation of our Creator God. Each person we meet is loved as the likeness of their Creator. We will never know. Our actions and words may just lead these people Home to God their Father.

Scripture Reading: We are therefore Christ’s Ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:20, NIV)

Conclusion. This is such a privilege. We are Christ’s Ambassadors. We represent Him and His Kingdom here on Earth.

What a privilege and a responsibility this is. To preach the Kingdom of God through our love for others. In each word of love and compassion. We speak softly and gently. As we care for and tend to those along our way.

Every tender and kind action we take. Speaks of the love of Almighty God. Our gentle and compassionate touch. Speaks of the love of Jesus. Our words are speaking about the wondrous Gospel of the Kingdom of God. We are showing to all those along our way. The need and the urgency of repentance. We are showing each person. The gift of Jesus — salvation.

Josh Turner’s “For the Love of God.”

Turner transforms the title phrase from one of frustration to one of jubilant intent on this Southern gospel song. This was one of eight cuts on Punching Bag that Turner penned at a newly built log cabin on the property behind his home just outside Nashville. “It’s turned out to be quite an inspirational place,” he said. “It’s where I allow myself to think, be creative and make mistakes along the way.” (Josh Turner, Song Facts Blog)
